Hard Krypton has learned that LaserCyber, an intelligent laser metal processing equipment company, has completed a financing of tens of millions of yuan, with investment from Qigao Capital, Weixi Venture Capital as the follow-on investor, and Cangzhu Capital serving as the long-term exclusive financial advisor.

Founded in Shenzhen in August 2025, LaserCyber is positioned as a "desktop intelligent laser factory". The company's first laser welder product, the L1 series, covers three power levels of 600W, 900W and 1200W, which can complete handheld welding, cutting and laser cleaning, and can be connected with the dedicated C1 platform to achieve more precise plane cutting. The products are mainly targeted at overseas small processing plants, garage studios and metal creators. At present, LaserCyber's first product has been launched on Kickstarter for crowdfunding, receiving support of over one million US dollars.

Welding is a mature and huge industrial market, and laser welding is a fast-growing segment in it. Data from Grand View Research shows that the global arc welding equipment market still has a scale of tens of billions of US dollars, while the laser welder market is at the level of billions of US dollars. Traditional arc welding has a long development history, low equipment price and wide application range, and still occupies the mainstream at present; laser welding has a smaller market size, but is expanding from industrial automation equipment to handheld and desktop products.

Compared with traditional arc welding, laser welding uses a high energy density beam to heat metal in a concentrated manner, featuring faster welding speed, smaller heat-affected zone, less material deformation and fewer subsequent polishing processes; it has obvious advantages especially in the processing of medium and thin plates with thickness below 4mm. Its applications have covered automotive parts, electronic devices, medical equipment, as well as kitchenware, doors and windows, metal furniture and automotive sheet metal and other scenarios.

Chinese manufacturers have laid out the laser welding market in both B-end and C-end scenarios. Industrial laser equipment enterprises such as Han's Laser and HG Laser have launched handheld laser welding products; in the past two years, brands including xTool and XLASERLAB have integrated welding, cutting and cleaning into more lightweight equipment, targeting small workshops and overseas Makers.

LIU Chenbo is the founder and CEO of LaserCyber. He was previously responsible for the overseas brand building and crowdfunding of XLASERLAB, and achieved a crowdfunding result of millions of US dollars. In his view, the core users of consumer-grade laser welders are not the general family population, but overseas Makers and small workshop operators with clear processing needs.

"Our customers are mainly European and American males aged 35 to 65, who usually have their own garages or run small processing plants. When something is broken and needs to be welded, or when they want to process some parts by themselves, laser welding tools are a rigid demand for them," LIU Chenbo told Hard Krypton.

The L1 series launched by LaserCyber covers three power levels of 600W, 900W and 1200W. One single device integrates handheld welding, cutting and cleaning, and through its exclusive technical capabilities, realizes the welding and processing of highly reflective materials such as copper and aluminum. In previous consumer-grade small welders, highly reflective materials such as copper and aluminum were difficult to process and required special equipment.

"In the past, ordinary small welders could basically only weld iron and stainless steel, and different machines were often needed to weld copper and aluminum. The L1 series hopes to process all these materials in one single device, and users only need to select the corresponding material," LIU Chenbo told Hard Krypton.

Another feature of the L1 series is its integration. Its wire feeding mechanism is built inside the device, so users no longer need to configure the welder and wire feeder separately; the automatic wire feeding and retraction design is used to reduce wire sticking during arc stopping. LIU Chenbo said that LaserCyber does not simply shrink industrial equipment, but reorganizes the coordination between the light source, welding torch, wire feeding system, control system and interactive software.

Reducing the learning threshold of laser welders with AI is another major feature of the L1 series. According to LaserCyber, the L1 series helps novice users start operation with one click through the built-in software system, enabling them to get started quickly. For experienced users, it provides multi-dimensional parameter adjustment options to maintain the product's adaptability to professional users.

Hard Krypton learned that the parameter library mainly comes from the welding process data accumulated by the team over the years, and the team plans to further improve the diversity of the parameter library through community operation in the future.

In terms of product design, LaserCyber realizes predictive maintenance of products and users' technical iteration through its unique AI software and hardware system.

Integrating AI capabilities into the welding torch is no easy task. KOU Lingtao from LaserCyber told Hard Krypton that multiple sets of technologies need to be accommodated inside the welding torch at the same time, and the team has iterated the welding torch for about 7 to 10 rounds in total. At the same time, integrating the water cooling, wire feeding and control modules into the integrated body also raises higher requirements for heat dissipation, reliability and mass production consistency.

Safety is also an issue that must be paid attention to for consumer-grade laser welder products. The L1 series belongs to high-power Class 4 fiber laser equipment. The company said that the product is advancing the CE, RED and FDA compliance processes for the EU and US markets in accordance with SGS procedures.

In terms of the team, founder and CEO LIU Chenbo graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with experience in internet advertising, overseas marketing and laser tool brand operation; Co-founder and CTO KOU Lingtao has more than 15 years of laser R&D experience, and once served as the chief engineer of the cutting division of Hymson Laser, and R&D director of Han's Laser Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.

CEO Dialogue

Hard Krypton: You mentioned AI and small models. Where does the training data of this system come from, and how many types of materials and working conditions can it cover?

LIU Chenbo: The initial process parameters come from the welding data and testing experience accumulated by the team in the industrial end in the past, covering common material, thickness and power combinations first. We will also incorporate variables such as ambient temperature and heat dissipation status into the calculation, so that the device can automatically adjust parameters in different environments.

Hard Krypton: xTool is also making laser welders, and has accumulated experience in brands and software. As a new brand, what is the most difficult-to-replicate difference of LaserCyber?

LIU Chenbo: We highly recognize the brand and product capabilities of xTool, but laser welding and laser cutting are the core business of LaserCyber, not an attempt extended from other product lines. Our difference is not a single parameter, but the combination of three parts: using high-reflection-resistant light source to process copper and aluminum materials, integrating wire feeding, welding, cutting and cleaning into one device, and then using AI to lower the process threshold. Reorganizing the coordination of light source, welding torch, control system and software around metal processing, this overall capability is the most difficult to replicate.
