The 2026 list of highest-earning IPs is unveiled, all the top 4 entries exceed 10 billion RMB, while LABUBU only ranks 10th?
In the latest earnings season, all listed companies have successively released their financial data for the first half of the year. Lei Bao has also successively analyzed the performance of companies such as Pop Mart, Sanrio, Hasbro, and Maoyan Entertainment in related articles recently.
However, compared with the performance at the company level, what the industry and consumers pay more attention to may be the revenue at the IP level. So, is it possible to sort out the actual revenue of well-known IPs at home and abroad this year?
Previously, industry media mostly used the so-called "list of the world's highest-earning IP values" created by overseas institutions based on Wikipedia data as the basis for the commercial value of IP. This list has certain reference value, but it has problems such as no official certification of the institution, incomplete data sources, imprecise citations, and poor timeliness. Lei Bao also explained this in the article "The 2025 List of Highest-earning IPs is Released: No Nezha? No LABUBU Either?".
Therefore, in order to create a more objective and timely IP revenue list, based on long-term tracking and research on the industry, Lei Bao sorted out the financial reports and public data of related companies, and produced the "2026 Global Highest-earning IP List - Incomplete Statistics" as follows (there are errors in manual statistics):
It should be noted that due to diverse data sources, limited disclosure of public financial reports, and different revenue sharing models for different types of IPs, this list only reflects the commercial value of relevant IPs through their annual revenue performance in some dimensions, and is not a complete and objective ranking.
Honor of Kings takes the first place with 16.5 billion yuan,
Spider-Man's box office surpasses Nezha and ranks top 3 in film history?
Specifically, there are 61 IPs included in this list. This does not mean that these 61 IPs are the top 61 highest-earning IPs in the world, but because the revenue data of relevant IPs has objective basis or is highly representative in different tracks.
Look at the top of the list first. Tencent's Honor of Kings ranks first on the list with an estimated revenue of 16.46 billion yuan, and Peacekeeper Elite ranks fourth with 10.06 billion yuan. Both data are based on the AppMagic platform and calculated by AI.
Statistics from Mobilegamer.biz based on AppMagic show that in the first half of the year, excluding third-party Android channels (generally considered to be 1.6-2 times the iOS + Google Play channels), web store and advertising revenue, and after deducting platform sharing, the total revenue of Honor of Kings was about 1 billion US dollars, leading the entire game track with a steep leading edge; the total revenue of Peacekeeper Elite was 676 million US dollars. In addition, Scopely's Monopoly Go had a total revenue of about 604 million US dollars, ranking 12th on this list.
Spider-Man and Toy Story ranked second and third with 15.834 billion yuan and 10.944 billion yuan respectively.
Among them, Maoyan data shows that Spider-Man: Freshman Year, which has been released for less than a month, has now exceeded 2.356 billion US dollars in global box office, surpassing Nezha: The Devil's Birth and Avatar 3 to jump to the top 3 in global film history; Toy Story 5 has a global box office of 1.129 billion US dollars, and the total box office of the 5 works in the series has exceeded 4 billion US dollars. In addition, Disney revealed that the annual global retail sales of this IP exceed 1 billion US dollars.
There are 12 other IPs that entered this list based on movie box office. Among them, on the Hollywood side, The Super Mario Bros. Movie had a box office of 1.013 billion US dollars, which is one of only 5 films with a box office of over 1 billion US dollars this year, ranking 7th on this list; the box office of Minions and the Big Monster and Moana 2 performed flat compared with their previous works.
On the domestic front, Eight Immortals! whose current Maoyan forecast box office reaches 1.945 billion yuan, is the highest-ranked domestic animation IP, ranking 24th; Boonie Bears ranks 30th with Boonie Bears: Bear Every Year whose box office is 1.067 billion yuan; the rest of domestic animations rank relatively low.
On the Japanese side, two animations performed the most outstandingly this year, namely Detective Conan: The Fallen Angel on the Highway and Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island. Their local box office in Japan reached 13.69 billion yen and 11.09 billion yen respectively, ranking 27th and 42nd on the Japanese all-time box office list.
According to the calculation of UP creator "Daily Blame Honkai Girl", the conservative value of Genshin Impact's full-channel revenue in the first half of the year is about 10.676 billion yuan, ranking first among domestic two-dimensional/otome games. After deducting channel sharing, the AI-calculated revenue is about 8.114 billion yuan, ranking 5th on this list.
There are many game IPs that can enter this list based on the UP creator's data. This article only includes some representative IPs in the statistics, including: No.15 Honkai: Star Rail, No.18 Wuthering Waves, No.21 Zenless Zone Zero, No.23 Arknights: Endfield, No.25 Love and Deepspace, and No.38 Onmyoji.
Who are the top 20 toy and trendy play companies in the world?
LEGO, Bandai, and Pop Mart rank top 3?
Most of the IPs ranked 6th to 10th on the list come from toy and trendy play companies. Among them, Hasbro's Magic: The Gathering ranks 6th with a revenue of 6.822 billion yuan; Bandai Namco's Mobile Suit Gundam ranks 8th with 5.567 billion yuan; Mattel's Hot Wheels ranks 9th with 4.861 billion yuan; Pop Mart's THE MONSTERS (LABUBU) ranks 10th with 4.454 billion yuan, which is also the only Chinese non-game IP in the top 10.
Many IPs ranked 11th to 20th also come from the above companies. For example, the revenue of One Piece and Dragon Ball mainly rely on Bandai's revenue to occupy No.13 and No.14 on the list; as the biggest highlight of Pop Mart's half-year report, the revenue of The Little Mermaid increased by 580.6% year-on-year to 2.65 billion yuan in the first half of the year, ranking No.17 on the list, and it is also one of the only two Chinese trendy play IPs in the top 20; Mattel's classic IP Barbie ranks No.20 with 2.118 billion yuan. The specific top 20 rankings are as follows:
In addition to the IP list, this article also specially sorts out the performance of domestic and foreign toy and trendy play companies in the first half of 2026 (there are errors in manual statistics).
Among them, calculated by revenue, the world's top 5 toy and trendy play companies are LEGO, Bandai, Pop Mart, Hasbro and Mattel respectively, and the revenue of all 5 companies in the first half of the year exceeded 10 billion yuan.
Among them, LEGO's overwhelming advantage is very significant. In the first half of the year, the company's revenue reached 41.9 billion Danish kroner (about 44 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 21%, hitting a record high; net profit increased by 32% year-on-year to 8.6 billion Danish kroner (about 9 billion yuan).
Although Pop Mart's performance growth rate has declined significantly this year, its current revenue and profit scale are still very excellent. Its net profit of 5.038 billion yuan ranks second among the world's leading toy and trendy play companies, even higher than Bandai Namco, whose revenue is more than 10 billion yuan higher.
Among the top five companies, Mattel shows a certain trend of falling behind. Its net profit in the first half of the year was only 43 million yuan, and it even had a net loss of 18.2 million US dollars in the second quarter. This is mainly because although product sales are growing (at a rate of 8%), the increase in sales costs (15%) and advertising and marketing promotion expenses (45%) paid by Mattel is much higher, which directly leads to an operating loss of up to 91.8 million yuan in the first half of the year. If it were not for the remedy of non-operating gains and losses and income tax benefits, the net profit performance would be even worse.
Back to IPs, among Bandai Namco's 9 major IPs, 7 of them maintained positive growth in the first half of the year, only the revenue of Dragon Ball and Pretty Cure decreased compared with the same period of last year. Among them, as Bandai's "backbone", Mobile Suit Gundam not only has the largest revenue scale, but also the best growth performance, with a year-on-year increase of 27.71%.
Pop Mart had 6 IPs with revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan and 11 IPs with revenue exceeding 100 million yuan in the first half of the year. Among them, compared with the second half of last year, as many as 9 of the 9 major IPs had a month-on-month decrease in revenue. LABUBU, which was a huge hit last year, even decreased by 52.3% month-on-month; Molly, the founding IP, was affected by factors such as the collapse of the MEGA series release system, and its month-on-month revenue decreased by 41.6%; SKULLPANDA, which has led the growth for many years, is also facing a downward trend. Only The Little Mermaid shows an obvious counter-trend growth trend.
For the remaining three IPs with revenue exceeding 100 million yuan whose specific data are not disclosed, Lei Bao estimates that the revenue of PUCKY is 200 million yuan, the revenue of HACIPUPU is 180 million yuan, and the revenue of Pantao is 130 million yuan respectively.
Mattel's performance is even more not optimistic. In the first half of the year, among its three major brands, the revenue of Barbie and Fisher-Price decreased year-on-year, of which the former decreased by 16% and the latter decreased by 9%.
The rest of the revenue mainly comes from the core IP of Bloks, a toy and trendy play company. Bloks, which ranks 10th in the toy and trendy play company list, achieved a total revenue of 1.776 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 32.7%; net profit was 387 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%.
In terms of IPs, Transformers, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Hero Infinity, Naruto and Jurassic World are the 6 best-selling IPs of Bloks
