On July 28, MORROR ART, an original Chinese music technology brand, launched the A2 fully transparent lyric speaker with an official price of 3899 yuan, which is simultaneously available for sale across all domestic channels in China.

Hard Krypton learned that SonicGlass, the overseas counterpart of A2, had raised more than 1.2 million US dollars in crowdfunding on Kickstarter in about 30 days after its launch.

Compared with the first-generation product A1, the upgrades of A2 are concentrated in three aspects:

The first is the deepening of transparent design. The product adopts a highly transparent glass cabinet paired with transparent speakers, and is equipped with a 21.5-inch FHD TFT dual transparent display panel, which visualizes both the sound generating structure and the display components.

The second is the upgrade of the acoustic system. The A2 is equipped with an 11.5-liter sealed acoustic cavity and dual 4-inch full-range units, uses an ultra-thin glass diaphragm from Schott Germany, and presents human voice details and sound layers through overall tuning.

Zhang Jian frankly stated in the group interview that the brand's early products were limited by cost with relatively limited investment in acoustics. As the product price range increases, A2 adds Wi-Fi connection to improve the sound source transmission experience. "We do not avoid the problem of sound quality, and will continue to invest in the acoustic system," Zhang Jian said.

The more notable changes lie on the software and content side. A2 adds two new features: AI MV and MORROR Radio. The former can generate dynamic visual scenes according to the type, rhythm and emotion of the song instead of following a unified template; the latter organizes music content in a way close to that of a radio host, supplementing background introductions between songs to establish narrative connections. Content and software features support continuous OTA updates.

Zhang Jian revealed to Hard Krypton that MORROR Radio is planning to introduce celebrity collaborations to enhance interactivity and sense of companionship, and relevant cooperation is expected to be launched within this year.

Zhang Jian regards the launch of A2 as the official implementation of the brand's "music visual system". He believes that music visualization should not stop at "displaying lyrics", but should be extended to visual content narration, music emotion interpretation and contextualized listening.

Looking back on the development track of MORROR ART, the brand was founded in 2020. It entered the market with transparent lyric speakers in the early stage, and then gradually expanded to multiple product lines such as record lyric speakers, mural lyric speakers, desktop lyric speakers, and smart music control hubs.

Zhang Jian said in the group interview that the brand does not actually define itself as an "audio company", but hopes to become an "electronic home brand".

"Music can be integrated into transparent speakers, and can also be integrated into different home forms such as murals, bedside tables, and turntables." He believes that it is difficult for a company to form an absolute moat relying on a single technology, and the real barrier is the capability system composed of product definition, supply chain, software and hardware, content and aesthetics.

Hard Krypton learned on site that MORROR ART currently has about 9 SKUs, with annual sales of about 500 million yuan across all platforms in China in 2025. Online revenue accounts for more than 80%, and female users account for about 70%.

In the future, the brand plans to expand its SKUs to more than 20, extending the price range from the thousand-yuan level to nearly 20,000 yuan, covering different family spaces such as desktops, bedside areas, studies, living rooms and walls. In terms of offline channels, the brand plans to add experience touchpoints in core cities, and enter lifestyle collection stores, home furnishing channels and designer channels.

MORROR ART tries to take a different path from traditional audio brands. It does not pursue a super single product with annual sales of tens of billions of yuan, but hopes to establish public recognition in the blank area between consumer electronics and home products through a series of scenario-based "home works" with distinctive design recognition.

Whether this path can succeed depends on whether the brand's product definition capability can remain effective in the process of scale expansion, and whether visual music content can truly form user stickiness.
