From a lyric-display speaker to a home audio brand.

36Kr learned that Wuxi Future Mirror Display Technology Co., Ltd., the parent company of home audio brand MORROR ART, has recently completed a RMB 100 million Series B+ financing round, led by Rizu Capital, with continued participation from existing investor Zero One Venture, and FlowCapital serving as the exclusive financial advisor. The proceeds from this round will be mainly used to expand the electronic home product matrix, develop visual music content and software systems, expand domestic offline experience channels, and support the global development of its overseas sub-brand MorningBlues.

In 2024, 36Kr was the first to report that MORROR ART secured a nearly RMB 100 million Series B financing round, led by Haikong Tiancheng Fund and followed by Zero One Venture. Since then, MORROR ART's revenue has maintained rapid growth, with its 2025 growth rate significantly outpacing the average level of the audio industry.

Meanwhile, MORROR ART has incubated the sub-brand MorningBlues for overseas markets. Its new-generation product, the SonicGlass A1, has garnered support from users in major markets including Europe and the United States on Kickstarter. The crowdfunding amount for the project has exceeded $1.2 million, marking a key milestone for the company to validate its global market presence.

From Transparent Lyric Speakers to a Full Electronic Home Product Matrix

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, MORROR ART first entered the market with its signature transparent lyric speaker, combining real-time lyric display, transparent materials, and acoustic systems. This innovation transforms lyrics that were once confined to mobile phone screens into content that can be continuously viewed and experienced within home spaces.

This product quickly gained strong brand recognition, but for MORROR ART, lyric display is far from its full ambition. What it truly aims to tap into is a new market segment situated between consumer electronics and home products.

Traditional speakers are first and foremost functional devices, purchased by users to play audio. When the music stops and the device is turned off, they are often reduced to little more than an electronic black box placed on a desk, TV cabinet, or in a corner. Home products are different: a lamp, a chair, a decorative painting, or a vase, even when not actively used, remains an integral part of the space, continuously delivering aesthetic value and shaping the surrounding atmosphere.

MORROR ART seeks to redefine the relationship between consumer electronics and home spaces. In its product philosophy, an electronic device should not only generate value when powered on; it should also possess a distinct sense of materiality, spatial presence, display appeal, and long-term viewing value, seamlessly integrating into the home just like furniture, lighting, or art decor.

Zhang Jian, Founder of MORROR ART, stated, "Electronic products do not inherently conflict with home environments. They can embody not just technology, but also aesthetics, emotions, and people's lifestyles." As a result, the brand's product vision is to integrate acoustics, display technology, digital content, material design, and spatial aesthetics into a single cohesive product.

Over the past few years, MORROR ART has successively launched multiple product lines, including transparent lyric speakers, vinyl-style lyric speakers, and mural lyric speakers.

MORROR ART's product matrix

At present, MORROR ART has built a foundational product matrix consisting of approximately 8 SKUs, with plans to expand to around 20 SKUs in the future. Its price range will gradually extend from RMB 1,000+, RMB 2,000+, and RMB 3,000+ to nearly RMB 20,000, covering desktops, bedside areas, studies, living rooms, walls, and a more comprehensive range of home spaces.

For MORROR ART, expanding to 20 SKUs does not mean launching 20 speakers with similar forms. Its true goal is to establish a unified yet non-repetitive electronic home product system that caters to different spaces, budgets, and life stages.

While their appearances vary, all products will revolve around three core questions: how electronic devices can integrate into home spaces, how digital content can deliver sustained emotional value, and how music can evolve from a purely auditory experience to a spatial one.

"Visual Music" Goes Beyond Lyric Display to Build Full Visual Narratives for Songs

Visual music remains a critical foundation of MORROR ART's product system, but it is no longer just an extension of the lyric display function. In its early products, the screen primarily served as a lyric display panel, allowing users to read lyrics in real time while listening to music.

In the next phase, MORROR ART aims to forge a deeper connection between visual content and the music itself. A song will no longer be limited to several lines of scrolling text; instead, it can correspond to dynamic typography movements, rhythmic changes, colors, motion graphics, emotional scenes, and background content with the narrative feel of a music video.

For example, when the system plays rock music, the screen may display drum beats, grainy textures, black-and-white imagery, or stage-like dynamic visuals. When playing ballads, the visual language will shift more slowly and gently in sync with the melody, lyrics, and mood. Visuals are no longer an add-on feature of the speaker, but an integral part of the song's expression.

The MorningBlues SonicGlass A1, currently in crowdfunding on Kickstarter, is a concentrated embodiment of this round of upgrades.

The MorningBlues SonicGlass A1 product

First, the SonicGlass A1 features a complete redesign of the fundamental acoustic structure. In traditional speakers, the drive unit, sound cavity, and internal components are typically hidden inside a closed cabinet. Consumers can hear the sound, but cannot see how it is generated. The SonicGlass A1 introduces a transparent acoustic unit and re-engineers the sound cavity structure. When the transparent unit is in operation, users can directly observe the movement of the diaphragm and the process of sound production.

As a result, sound is no longer just an invisible output, but becomes part of the product's visual expression. This also endows the SonicGlass A1 with stronger electronic home attributes, allowing it to fit more naturally into desktop environments such as living rooms and studies. "Even when no music is playing, the transparent acoustic structure itself provides display value. When music starts playing, the acoustic unit, lyrics, visuals, and space together create a dynamic experience," Zhang Jian explained.

The second major upgrade of the SonicGlass A1 is its evolution from simple lyric display to MV-style visual narratives.

Previous lyric speakers primarily focused on displaying lyrics in real time and accurately. The SonicGlass A1 goes a step further to explore whether, when a song plays, a visual world that matches the music's style and mood can be constructed behind the lyrics.

In the new system, lyrics are still present, but they no longer float in isolation against a single background. Different songs can be paired with corresponding dynamic scenes, typography animations, and visual effects based on their genre, rhythm, mood, and content. The background is no longer just a decorative animation, but begins to fulfill a narrative function similar to that of a music video.

For MORROR ART, the value of this capability extends far beyond making the screen "more visually appealing." When visual content can continuously change in response to music, the speaker is no longer a static hardware device with a fixed appearance and limited interaction, but evolves into a spatial terminal capable of ongoing content updates. According to Zhang Jian, this is also a key condition for the integration of consumer electronics and home products.

In addition to the transparent acoustic system and MV-style visual content, the SonicGlass A1 also introduces the AI Radio feature. Before a song starts, an AI host can introduce the artist, background of the work, creative stories, or the musical context of the track; after the song ends, the AI host can provide interpretations of the work, respond to the user's current mood, or smoothly transition to the next song.

The transparent acoustics make the process of sound production visible, the MV-style visuals extend the emotional depth of the music, and AI Radio builds narrative connections between tracks. Together, these three elements form the core upgrade of the SonicGlass A1: it does not just play music, but redefines how users engage with music.

It is reported that on July 28, MORROR ART will officially launch the fully transparent lyric speaker A2 in the Chinese market. This product shares the same core technology as the overseas SonicGlass series, and represents a key milestone in MORROR ART's evolution from a lyric speaker brand to a provider of visual music systems and electronic home products.

The Next Phase Will Prioritize Investment in Offline Experience

Compared with ordinary Bluetooth speakers, electronic home and visual music products integrate multiple dimensions, including sound, display, materials, structure, dynamic content, product proportions, and spatial relationships.

Consumers need to experience the transparency of the materials in a real environment, see how the product fits into home spaces, observe the display effect of lyrics and imagery, and feel the synergy between sound, visual content, and the surrounding space. Relying solely on e-commerce product pages, short videos, or parameter comparisons makes it impossible to fully convey the value of such products.

Therefore, MORROR ART plans to gradually expand its offline experience touchpoints in core cities, and explore diverse formats including brand stores, mall experience spaces, lifestyle concept stores, home improvement channels, designer channels, and art spaces. The brand aims to make its products available not just in traditional 3C electronics malls, but also in living rooms, bedrooms, studies, hotels, restaurants, and public spaces that are closely connected to real daily life.

For MORROR ART, offline stores are not just sales channels, but also essential infrastructure for product display, spatial demonstration, and consumer education about the category.

Consumers need to first see how the SonicGlass A1 fits into a living room, how the transparent acoustic unit reduces the visual bulk of the product, and how the lyrics and MV-style visuals interact with the surrounding space, to truly understand the difference between electronic home products and ordinary speakers.

The experience of Rizu Capital in consumer brands, channel operations, and offline retail will also provide crucial support for MORROR ART as it advances through this phase.

Zhang Jian stated, "We do not want to blindly scale up or speed up operations after financing. What matters more is to deepen the paths we have already validated, and further refine our products, content, software, supply chain, and channel systems."

From bringing lyrics into physical spaces, to creating visual narratives for music, to making electronic devices truly part of the home environment, MORROR ART is undertaking a challenging category transformation. It is not just a consumer electronics company selling lyric speakers, but a new type of brand that takes visual music as its core content, electronic home products as its form factor, and strives to expand into the global market.

Investor Insights

Chen Feng, Founder of Rizu Capital, stated: When electronic products enter the home, they should not be limited to being just functional devices. They can also become an integral part of spatial aesthetics and lifestyle. MORROR ART has completed the first phase of product validation. In the next phase, it has the opportunity to build long-term brand value through a more comprehensive product matrix, offline experience networks, and global expansion capabilities.

Yu Lu, Managing Partner of Zero One Venture, stated: MORROR ART has not rested on the success of a single product. Whether it is expanding its product line from around 8 SKUs to approximately 20 SKUs, or the successful validation of MorningBlues in overseas markets, it demonstrates that the company is transitioning from single-product innovation to building a more complete product system and brand ecosystem. We value not just short-term growth, but also the team's ability to translate original product ideas into stable R&D, manufacturing, and global delivery capabilities, ultimately delivering original product categories and global brands originating from China.
