Qianli Technology aims to achieve the goal of installing one million ASD units by the end of 2026.

To help Qianli Technology become the "second Huawei", Geely has decided to add new technological chips to its development.

36Kr learned from multiple industry insiders that Geely's central research institute's ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) team of hundreds of people will be integrated into Qianli Technology in the near future. Currently, some members of Geely's research institute's ADAS team have received notices about the transfer contract.

An insider close to Geely told 36Kr: "After this round of integration, Geely's research institute's ADAS team will be transferred to Qianli Haohan, a joint - venture company between Qianli Zhijia and ZEEKR. In the future, Qianli Haohan will mainly serve Geely, the core customer. Qianli Zhijia can then shift more of its focus to other OEM customers. Geely has tentatively set such an integration plan." 36Kr verified this information with Geely, but as of press time, there was no response.

According to public information, Qianli Zhijia is a subsidiary of Qianli Technology responsible for ADAS R & D. Qianli Technology indirectly holds 30% of the shares of Qianli Zhijia through Chongqing Jianghe.

Qianli Haohan is a joint - venture company between Qianli Zhijia and ZEEKR. Qianli Zhijia and ZEEKR hold 48% and 47% of the shares of Qianli Haohan respectively.

In August 2025, ZEEKR's ADAS team, Maichi Zhixing, an ADAS subsidiary of Megvii Technology, and a small number of people from Geely's research institute were integrated into Qianli Zhijia, forming an ADAS R & D team of about 2,000 people.

A Geely insider told 36Kr that in the previous round of integration, the ADAS team remaining in Geely's research institute was mainly responsible for putting forward customized requirements to suppliers and conducting tests. These people report to Chen Qi, the CEO of Qianli Zhijia.

Qianli Technology was formerly Lifan Technology, which was invested in and controlled by Geely in 2020. In 2024, after Yin Qi became the chairman of Qianli Technology, he led the company's strategic transformation towards "AI + automotive". Currently, Qianli Technology's business scope covers areas such as ADAS, intelligent cockpits, and embodied intelligence.

Geely Group has high hopes for it. Last year, Gui Shengyue, an executive director of Geely, publicly stated more than once that Geely wants to build the "second Huawei" together with Qianli Technology. At this year's Beijing Auto Show, Qianli Technology further quantified its business goals - to reach an ASD (Advanced Driver - Assistance System) installation volume of 1 - 1.3 million vehicles by the end of 2026, 2.7 - 3.3 million vehicles in 2027, and aim for 8 million vehicles in 2028, becoming one of the world's largest intelligent driving solution providers.

To achieve this ambitious goal, Qianli Technology is actively exploring customers outside of Geely. BAIC is the automaker with the clearest cooperation intention at present. The two sides will establish a joint - venture company this year and have planned 5 cooperation models, including a sedan, an off - road vehicle, and a shooting brake. Some of these models are planned to be released this year.

However, the market performance of the models jointly developed by Qianli Technology and BAIC is still uncertain. Geely is a more crucial customer for Qianli Technology to fulfill its promise of "installing 1 - 1.3 million ASD units by the end of 2026".

In 2025, Geely's cumulative sales exceeded 3 million vehicles, but not all of these 3 million vehicles are Qianli Technology's projects. A Geely insider told 36Kr that previously, Qianli Technology's ADAS team was mainly responsible for all ZEEKR models, the Lynk & Co 900, etc. Models under the Geely brand and Lynk & Co models other than the Lynk & Co 900 were handled by Geely's research institute's ADAS team.

Now, with the addition of Geely's research institute's ADAS team of hundreds of people to Qianli Technology, it can not only strengthen Qianli Technology's technical strength but also enable Qianli Technology to have more vehicle projects from Geely, thereby increasing the ASD installation volume of Qianli Technology.

For Geely, this round of integration of ADAS business will enable Geely to focus more on the whole - vehicle business in the future.

Geely Group's intelligent business has undergone several rounds of integration.

Geely Group originally had five different ADAS forces - the ADAS center of the research institute, ZEEKR's ADAS team, Lotus' ADAS team, its subsidiary ECARX, and Freetech, which was derived from Geely.

In March last year, at Geely's AI intelligent technology press conference, Geely Group launched the Qianli Haohan intelligent driving solution. Geely Group CEO Gan Jiayue publicly stated: "Qianli Haohan is Geely's unified intelligent mobility solution, and the high - level intelligent driving of the entire Geely is like a 'game of chess'." To some extent, this can be regarded as a sign of the initial integration of Geely Group's ADAS team.

In August last year, Geely's ADAS teams underwent a more thorough integration.

ZEEKR's ADAS team, Maichi Zhixing, an ADAS brand under Megvii, and a small number of people from Geely's research institute's ADAS team were all integrated into a new entity - Qianli Zhijia. Wang Jun, the co - president of Qianli Technology, serves as the CEO of Qianli Zhijia, Chen Qi, the former vice - president of ZEEKR's intelligent driving, serves as the co - CEO, and Yang Mu, the co - founder of Megvii Technology, serves as the CTO.

Now, the more comprehensive integration of Geely's research institute's ADAS business with Qianli Technology can save a large amount of R & D investment for Geely Group financially, and at the same time, enable Geely to focus more on the R & D of the whole vehicle, thereby expanding more market share.

Since its establishment, Qianli Technology has never hidden its ambition to benchmark against Huawei. In April this year, Qianli Technology submitted its second listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Now, Geely is integrating its research institute's ADAS team into Qianli Technology. All these efforts are driving Qianli Technology towards becoming the "second Huawei".
