36Kr learned that Beijing Yunji Avionics Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yunji Avionics"), a manufacturer of intelligent integrated avionics systems, announced the completion of an angel - round financing of over ten million yuan. This round of financing was led by the Seed Investment Fund of Beijing Economic - Technological Development Area. The funds raised will be used to enhance R & D capabilities and capacity building.

Founded in 2022, Yunji Avionics was jointly incubated by the Civil Aviation University of China and Shenyang Aerospace University. Relying on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements from universities, Yunji Avionics promotes the R & D of fully domestic intelligent integrated avionics systems, integrating multiple functions such as navigation, flight control, flight management, meteorology, and radio. The founder, Li Bei, graduated from the Civil Aviation University of China and has rich experience in the R & D and engineering of intelligent products. The core team of the company mainly comes from the avionics team, airworthiness team of the Civil Aviation University of China, and the flight control team and algorithm engineer team of Shenyang Aerospace University.

It is reported that Yunji Avionics has launched three products: the YJ - 500E, YJ - 1000E integrated avionics, and YJ - 2000 autopilot avionics. The YJ - 1000E is comparable to the Garmin G1000NXi, and the YJ - 2000 is comparable to the Garmin G5000. Currently, the YJ - 500E and YJ - 1000E integrated avionics are being tested on aircraft, and the YJ - 2000 is still in R & D.

Breaking the foreign monopoly, self - developed integrated avionics systems achieve full domestic production, low cost, and low power consumption

For a long time, more than 80% of the domestic avionics market has been occupied by foreign companies such as Honeywell, Collins Aerospace, and Garmin. In recent years, with the rapid development of the low - altitude economy and the optimization of airspace management policies, China has vigorously promoted the self - control of the aviation industry chain, and the market demand for domestic avionics systems has increased significantly.

According to a report from the Aviation Industry Network, as of 2024, the global avionics system market has approached $45 billion, and the proportion of the Chinese market is gradually increasing.

The dual increase in market demand and market size has attracted many domestic avionics start - up companies to enter the market.

Yunji Avionics is one of them, and its product advantages are mainly reflected in three aspects: localization rate, cost, and power consumption. "Yunji Avionics' system achieves a 100% domestic supply chain, with a cost 50% - 70% of its competitors and a power consumption of 30% of its competitors." Li Bei added.

The rise of new industries such as drones and eVTOL has created new demands for lightweight and modular avionics systems. At the same time, avionics systems are evolving towards integration and intelligence, and software - defined avionics and intelligent interconnection have become key industry trends.

Integration means that future avionics products will break the barriers between traditional subsystems, and multiple subsystems will be integrated into a comprehensive large - scale system. Li Bei said, "Currently, the mainstream in China is still sensor and federated avionics products, and there is no market - oriented enterprise with self - developed integrated avionics systems. The entire avionics system has eight subsystems, and Yunji Avionics is working on all of them. We have successfully completed the integration of multiple subsystems and achieved a highly integrated avionics system."

Intelligence means that future avionics products will have stronger perception, decision - making, and self - learning abilities. It is understood that the 1.0 version of Yunji Avionics' intelligent integrated avionics includes visual synthesis technology and a terrain awareness and warning system, which can provide aircraft with awareness of the surrounding terrain environment during the day and night and terrain height warnings, solving the problem of low visual visibility. In the subsequent iterations of the avionics system, Yunji Avionics will add more automation and guidance functions.

The self - operated factory will be put into use by the end of the year to accelerate the airworthiness application of products

In terms of business planning, in the early stage, Yunji Avionics will form a complete avionics solution for external sales based on its self - developed core systems and components, and in the later stage, it will gradually expand its product maintenance business.

Specifically regarding the commercialization progress, currently, Yunji Avionics has reached cooperation agreements with national - level model units, electric fixed - wing and helicopter manufacturers, and is expected to start mass - supplying them next year. In the overseas market, Yunji Avionics is also promoting the signing and supporting of several aircraft models.

In terms of production capacity, Yunji Avionics' first self - operated factory is under construction and is expected to be put into use by the end of this year. By then, Yunji Avionics will have an annual production capacity of approximately 50 sets of integrated avionics systems.

Li Bei mentioned that before the end of this year, Yunji Avionics will also promote the airworthiness application of two products to meet the civil aviation safety certification requirements.

Introduction of the investor

Seed Investment Fund of Beijing Economic - Technological Development Area: The Seed Investment Fund of Beijing Economic - Technological Development Area is an important part of the government - guided investment fund in the development area. It focuses on seedling enterprises in the four leading industries and six future industries in the development area, and the fund manager is Shuimu Venture Capital.

Chang Feng, the vice president of investment at Shuimu Venture Capital, said: Shuimu Venture Capital focuses on early - stage investment and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the hard - tech field and has incubated many listed companies and unicorn enterprises in the hard - tech field. As the 'brain' of an aircraft, the importance of domesticizing the integrated avionics system has become increasingly prominent against the backdrop of the rapid development of the low - altitude economy and the self - control of aviation equipment. The Yunji Avionics team, relying on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements from universities, has made rapid progress in the R & D and system integration of fully domestic integrated avionics systems, which has impressed us deeply. In the future, we will continue to support the growth of Yunji Avionics and look forward to the company contributing significantly to the self - security and industrial upgrading of China's aviation industry chain.
