Simultaneously developed with the chip are the data closed-loop capability and the intelligent driving solution for advanced urban areas.

Recently, Huiyi Intelligence released its new chip product - Guangzhi R1 on the opening day of the World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference (WICV).

This is a high-performance intelligent driving chip based on the 7nm automotive-grade process, integrating 45 billion transistors. The NPU has an 8-core SIMT architecture, and the CPU has 24 Arm Cortex-A78AE cores built-in, which can provide deep learning computing power greater than 500 TOPS and CPU computing power of more than 420k DMIPS.

It can support the needs of applications such as intelligent driving and robots in terms of high-level algorithms and iteration speed. This new product has reached a cooperation with an international automotive brand, and the mass-produced vehicle model equipped with Guangzhi R1 will be available in 2025.

In order to accelerate the mass production progress of Guangzhi R1, Huiyi Intelligence has created a plug-and-play small system sub-card RCM and a reference solution for the core domain controller for autonomous driving, RCCU, which can simplify the development process of automotive enterprises and reduce the challenges of hardware integration.

Xu Ningyi, the founder and CEO of Huiyi Intelligence, said, "With this solution, customers can achieve computing power expansion and software and hardware collaboration on the system architecture, greatly improving the efficiency and stability of project advancement."

As an automotive-grade chip, Guangzhi R1 has passed the automotive-grade certification and meets the ASIL-D and EVITA Full standards. At the same time, Huiyi Intelligence has also developed the RIF (Risk Immune Framework) architecture, which realizes flexible hierarchical and domain management on the basic error diagnosis mechanism and can support adjusting the security strategy as needed to ensure the safety and efficiency of the system operation.

At the same time as the new chip product was released, Huiyi Intelligence also showcased the two major systems it simultaneously built during the R & D process. One is the system capability of the data closed loop, which can provide customers with a series of system solutions such as data collection and processing, annotation, and intelligent driving algorithms.

The second is the high-level urban unmapped autonomous driving reference solution RINA. This solution does not rely on high-precision maps and supports end-to-end perception and planning algorithms. At the same time, it achieves a 60% computing power margin and reduces the cost at the system level by 40%. RINA can help customers complete the original algorithm migration within 30 days and achieve mass production and delivery within 12 months.

Xu Ningyi, the founder and CEO of Huiyi Intelligence, said that the Huiyi technical team has invested more than two years in Guangzhi R1. This new product, which was born only 18 days ago, is fully promoting the various tasks of mass production and implementation. And within the next three months, Huiyi Intelligence will hold another press conference to introduce its autonomous driving solution products and strategies to the outside world together with its strategic partner Jingwei Hengrun.

Under the industry price war, consumers' requirements for high-level intelligent driving performance and experience have risen sharply, and vehicle manufacturers are constantly seeking intelligent driving solutions with lower costs, stronger functions, and better experiences. The single-chip supply model corresponds to higher development costs, and the software and hardware integrated solution with more controllable costs and delivery is gradually becoming the industry mainstream. However, Huiyi Intelligence, which has chosen the right track, will still face many challenges.

According to the data from the Gaogong Intelligent Automobile Research Institute, in the first half of 2024, among the on-board solutions for self-owned brand passenger vehicles in the Chinese market, the combined market share of the five chip suppliers, Horizon Robotics, Mobileye, Renesas, NVIDIA, and HiSilicon, is as high as 85.14%.

Among them, there are no shortage of domestic chip manufacturers such as Horizon Robotics and HiSilicon. With their earlier market layout, they have accumulated rich mass production experience. At the same time, new power vehicle manufacturers such as NIO, Li Auto, and Xpeng have also entered the field to research and develop intelligent driving chips on their own, and emerging enterprises are facing dual challenges of technology and the market.

However, both domestic intelligent driving software and chips are developing rapidly, and the user mindset is gradually being occupied by self-owned brands. Under such a trend, local enterprises are likely to usher in a larger market.
