Marcoao, an electric motorcycle technology service provider, is committed to acquiring customers in overseas markets and seeking 15 million yuan in angel round financing.

An industry veteran with 23 years of deep engagement in the electric mobility sector, who has led top-tier brands to scale up from 60,000 units to millions of units and managed more than 8,000 global sales channels, has set sights on the 100-billion-level blue ocean market for overseas electric motorcycle technical services. In November 2025, the overseas technical service project of Marcoo Electric Motorcycle was officially launched. This startup, which focuses on providing full-chain technical services for overseas brands, original equipment manufacturers and service providers, has already delivered services to 6 clients, with outstanding orders exceeding 280 million yuan. It is currently seeking 15 million yuan in angel round financing, and has already connected with 3 potential institutional investors.

With the intensification of the global energy crisis and the intensive introduction of policies to replace fuel vehicles with electric ones in various countries, the overseas electric motorcycle market has witnessed explosive growth. According to the latest market forecast, the global electric two-wheeler market size will exceed 118 billion US dollars by 2030, with the compound annual growth rates in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America reaching 123%, 88% and 130.8% respectively, far outpacing the overall growth rate in China. Different from the mature Chinese market, local overseas players generally face shortcomings in the industrial chain: 70% of core components are highly dependent on Chinese supply chains, but they lack the bargaining power for centralized procurement; 80% of the R&D and design demands for complete vehicles need to connect with Chinese resources, and their own vehicle model iteration speed is far from keeping up with market changes. The market of over 100 billion yuan is in urgent need of professional third parties to provide full-chain implementation support. In 2025, the core team of Marcoo visited downstream clients in 27 countries, and brought in business orders of over 100 million yuan during the research trip. The rigid market demand directly promoted the rapid implementation of the project.

From preliminary research to company registration and the completion of delivery to the first batch of clients, the project took less than half a year to advance. The core team members are all from leading domestic electric motorcycle enterprises. Founder Li Jian successively served as core executives of top brands such as XINRI, Yadea and Bidewen. The co-founders cover all core positions in finance, R&D and manufacturing, technology, design and other modules. Among them, the manufacturing director has more than 30 years of full-process management experience in new energy electric vehicle manufacturing, and the chief designer once worked for KTM motorcycles in Austria, familiar with product design demands in different regional markets around the world. At the initial stage of the project, the team integrated more than 800 core suppliers that meet EU CE certification based on accumulated resources, and reached strategic cooperation with leading supply chain enterprises such as Chilwee, Bosch and Xingheng. The project quickly set up cooperative assembly plants in 9 countries around the world, with business covering more than 20 countries, successfully completed the order delivery for the first 6 clients, achieving an implementation speed rarely seen in startups. The biggest challenge in the process comes from the R&D capacity requirements of outstanding orders: a large number of orders require advance completion of mold opening and intelligent production investment, so funds are urgently needed to accelerate the establishment of the technology center and ensure the delivery schedule.

Compared with scattered overseas service providers on the market, Marcoo's differentiated advantages are very clear. Drawing on the team's 23 years of industry experience, the project has built full-link capabilities ranging from complete vehicle design and R&D, supply chain integration to brand empowerment. It is one of the very few projects in the industry that can obtain centralized procurement resources from leading supply chains right after its establishment. Relying on large-scale joint procurement, the supply chain cost is 8% to 12% lower than that of peers, and the overall gross profit margin exceeds 38%. In terms of technology, it covers multiple scenarios such as AIROC chip perception, intelligent battery swapping, and Internet of Things systems. It has shared more than 100 patents and software copyrights in total, after 6 generations of market operation upgrades, it can support the stable operation of millions of devices, and no less than 10 new technology patent applications will be added every year. The product design can quickly adapt to the segmented demands of different regional markets. In terms of business model, the project focuses on the KD asset-light assembly mode. Core revenue comes from the output of patented intelligent vehicle models, accounting for 80% of total revenue, followed by technical R&D services and component supply. The overall model has been fully verified by charging management fees through the resource integration platform.

According to statistics from industry export data, China's exports of complete electric motorcycles reached 26.74 million units in 2025, corresponding to an export value of 6.833 billion US dollars. Local overseas brands only occupy 20% of the market share, the remaining 40% is Chinese complete vehicle exports, and 40% is assembled and OEM-produced by traders. It is estimated that by 2030, the overseas supply chain service market alone will exceed 50 billion US dollars, and 85% of the demand depends on Chinese supply. At present, there are no leading enterprises in this track, and it has obvious blue ocean characteristics. Relying on the accumulated client resources of the team, Marcoo has now covered overseas OEMs, brands and service providers in more than 20 countries. All 6 early clients that have completed delivery have highly praised the product and service quality, and all clearly stated that they are willing to expand the scope of cooperation, only hoping to further shorten the delivery cycle, which will also be the top priority to be solved after the project's financing is in place.

In terms of funds, the project has already invested 3 million yuan of its own funds. This time it is seeking 15 million yuan in angel round financing, and the funds will be mainly used for the construction of China's new technology center, of which 6 million yuan will be used for mold opening, 2.5 million yuan for the procurement of intelligent manufacturing equipment, another 2 million yuan for the construction of cooperative factories and supply chain bases in Indonesia, and 3 million yuan for the construction of operation exhibition halls and warehouse systems. After the financing is completed, the project will prioritize the construction of the new R&D center and intelligent assembly lines, accelerate the design, R&D and mold opening of new products, ensure the delivery of outstanding orders, and gradually expand the layout of overseas cooperative factories to expand client coverage. The long-term vision of the project is to become the world's top overseas electric motorcycle technical service enterprise, with a target of 10 billion yuan in revenue in 2030, and become a leading enterprise serving global electric vehicle technology overseas ventures.

Talking about this entrepreneurship, founder Li Jian said that different from his previous experience leading the business of leading domestic enterprises, this overseas project carries the mission of exporting Chinese manufacturing and Chinese quality, and the sense of direction, responsibility and sense of achievement are stronger than ever. The recognition of products and services from already delivered clients has also further strengthened the team's confidence in doing this well. Early user feedback shows that Marcoo's full-chain services have solved the core pain points of overseas clients who lack R&D capabilities and supply chain bargaining power, and will also drive the overseas electric motorcycle industry to upgrade towards higher quality and greater intelligence, opening up new growth space for the Chinese electric mobility industrial chain to go global.
