"iPhone shows -30°C in many regions next Friday, Apple issues an apology"

In the early hours of November 4, a large number of Apple users found that the pre-installed Weather App presented "absurd" data. The temperature readings in many regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and other places showed "abnormalities", with the lowest value displaying around -30°C, and related topics sparked widespread complaints. In response to this anomaly, Apple's official customer service stated that after preliminary troubleshooting, the root cause was a system port issue rather than a hardware failure, and the technical team has completed the emergency repair. As for users' speculation that "the data location jumped to other regions", the customer service denied it: if it were a location drift issue, the weather values for adjacent dates should all be abnormal, instead of an extreme value appearing only on a specific single day. In addition, the customer service stated that it had received a large number of user feedbacks, for which they expressed deep apologies, and will continue to improve the data service experience in the follow-up. At present, the temperature data for the relevant dates has returned to normal. (The Paper)

Apple Intelligence Launches in Chinese Market, First Batch of Real-World Test Feedback: Battery Life and Stability Become Pain Points

In the early hours of November 4 Beijing time, the iOS 27.3 developer beta was rolled out, and the China-market Apple Intelligence kicked off its first domestic test. It accesses Tongyi Qianwen for complex tasks and is expected to be officially launched in December. This update is only available for iPhones for now, while iPads and Macs are not included temporarily. The China version does not have the new Siri for the time being, and it can call Tongyi Qianwen when exceeding the local model's capability, with a pop-up window to confirm permission before the call, and user data will not be used for model training. Basic functions such as in-device object removal, writing, and visual recognition are available in actual tests, but the interaction link is rather cumbersome. Many test users reported that this version has problems of overheating and degraded battery life, accompanied by bugs such as App crashes and input method lag; the Tongyi Qianwen interface is prone to timeout under weak network conditions, and long conversations tend to lose context. This function only supports models with A17 Pro and above chips, and users can upgrade by registering as a developer for free. The official reminds that it is not recommended to install it on your daily primary device. (Jiemian News)
