WTCC 2026 | The 2nd Westbund International Technology Consumption Carnival has come to a successful conclusion, leaving a city-level footnote for "Artificial Intelligence + Consumption Innovation"
On October 25, the 2nd West Bund International Tech Consumption Carnival (hereinafter referred to as "WTCC 2026") concluded successfully. More than 400 global cutting-edge tech brands gathered at West Bund, nearly 100 new AI products made their centralized debut, and over 100 industry exchange activities were intensively launched. The digital figures outline the scale, but what is truly worth exploring is: what is left after these four days.
The most profound change of this conference does not lie in the doubling of exhibition area or the rising number of participating brands, but in the fact that the exhibition organization logic has completed a systematic "perspective shift": the exhibition layout logic has changed from "arranging exhibitions by tech tracks" to "arranging exhibitions around the whole life of people", the space logic has expanded from "exhibition hall space" to "riverside waterfront area", and the operation logic has transformed from "display and experience" to "exhibition-competition integration, exhibition-sales linkage, and long-term post-exhibition operation".
These three interlinked shifts reflect the change in the concept of AI development. WTCC 2026 is therefore no longer just a four-day tech consumption carnival, but a vivid practice that takes people as the origin, the city as the scenario, and the ecosystem as the foothold, promoting technology to enter daily life and integrate into the city — making technology perceptible, the city friendly, and the ecosystem sustainable.
Arranged around people, born to meet demands, tech consumption returns to the origin of daily life
For the first time, this conference takes "AI for Life" as the theme, and sets up eight themed exhibition zones around eight life stages of human beings. The exhibition is unfolded in eight chapters: "Starting Point of Life, Curiosity for the World, Transforming the World, Smart Work, Fun Comes First, Physical and Mental Balance, New Chapter of Life, Boundless Life", covering the full life chain from maternal and infant products, child companionship, to smart office, sports health, and further to smart sleep, smart care, and elderly-friendly care.
Technology is no longer classified by industries and application scenarios, but reorganized by the human life cycle and real demands. This not only inherits the all-age-friendly concept of the first WTCC, but also is a specific practice of implementing the "People's City" concept in tech consumption scenarios — enabling consumers of different age groups to find the most suitable cutting-edge tech products for themselves in the same exhibition venue.
As one visitor at the scene exclaimed: "If you are willing to believe in the power of AI technology, AI can arrange your whole life in a perfectly orderly way."
Larger scale, higher level, building the world's leading debut platform for AI consumer technology
While expanding the scale, the debut level of this WTCC has also risen simultaneously. More than 400 global cutting-edge tech brands gathered here, nearly 100 new products made their centralized appearance, covering multiple levels such as global debut and national debut. A dedicated new product launch stage is also set up to undertake intensive debut and first-show activities.
1. Farobot Technology launched consumer-grade hip exoskeletons PowrGo H1 and H1 Ultra, with peak power of 1000W and 1500W, targeting the scenarios of daily travel and outdoor sports;
2. AiMe positions itself as "family companion education" to enter the scenario of companionship and habit cultivation for children over 3 years old;
3. The world's first non-invasive blood routine robot pushes detection from "blood drawing" to "no perception";
4. The housework robot "Xiao Wei" tries to incorporate daily trivialities such as storage, object fetching, laundry, and pet care into the home automation closed loop;
5. Arm China Jishu Community released JishuFriends and JishuBuddy, targeting embodied intelligent devices and Agentic AI hardware development respectively, to complement the tool base of edge-side AI.
In the same venue, underlying computing power and terminal hardware are displayed side by side, general models and industry solutions are placed together, and the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain are clearly visible. This full-chain presentation from underlying computing power to terminal products, from general models to industry solutions, is a direct manifestation of the attractiveness and influence of Shanghai West Bund as a national AI highland.
The improvement of debut and first-show level not only consolidates WTCC's positioning as an international tech consumption event, but also elevates it to the preferred platform for global AI consumer technology debut. The exhibition area extends from indoor to outdoor, and the activities further enrich the forms of competitions, maker events, and markets, covering both "professional visitors" and "all-age citizens", continuously promoting the conference to evolve from a professional exhibition to a city-level tech consumption grand event.
Gather competitions through exhibitions, boost industry development through competitions, promote the transformation of competition traffic into industrial increment
This conference innovatively adopts the form of exhibition-competition linkage, building a growth closed loop of "competition discovery - WTCC verification - space incubation - market amplification", jointly promoting "AI + consumption", and further pushing the competition achievements from professional circles to the public view, from short-term selection to long-term operation, and from project display to commercial implementation.
Since its launch in August, the first Shanghai "AI + Consumption" Innovation Competition (2026) has collected nearly 800 participating projects and works in total. The first prize winner of the application group, Qwen AI Glasses, has cooperated with Wuliangcai to open a flagship store on Nanjing Road, and carried out the pilot of "AI Glasses City Tour Guide" in Grand Yuyuan, connecting explanation, navigation and consumption services into a real activity route. The first prize winner of the maker group, Vision AI Ocular Surface Analyzer, points out the consumerization path of health detection. The third-prize winner "SenseTime ShanHui SenseMart OS" has its "Shaomai Go" robot store actually operated on Xuhui Riverside, with the manpower of a single store reduced to 0.2 to 0.3 person, and a single order can be completed in as fast as 15 seconds.
The projects that stand out from the competition do not demonstrate feasibility in PPTs, but are tested by actual operating data on the streets. The real integration of competitions and exhibitions does not lie in holding the award ceremony in the exhibition venue, but in making the real consumption scenarios an extension of the review process: projects gain exposure and feedback in the exhibition venue, obtain verification and iteration in business districts and blocks, and the competition on the track is thus transformed into collaboration on the industrial chain.
Expanded scenarios, extended experience, tech consumption embedded in the riverside life show belt
Different from the previous exhibition modes dominated by indoor pavilions, this year's WTCC extends the tech experience to the public space of West Bund Riverside, creates a "five-star outdoor" experience section, and embeds tech consumption scenarios into the urban life show belt along the Huangpu River.
