Mbappé's endorsement revenue in China is nearly 22 million euros, accounting for 38% of his total commercial income
After the incident of Mbappé's inappropriate remarks related to China broke out, the Chinese market completed the whole-chain operations of brand contract termination and platform delisting in less than 24 hours. This process not only aroused strong repercussions domestically, but also quickly entered the coverage vision of mainstream global media. International media of different orientations launched discussions from multiple dimensions including business, sports ethics, and public figure responsibility, making this incident a highly iconic negative case in the global sports business field.
The UK's Financial Times immediately defined this incident as "a typical mistake made by top sports stars that touches the red line of the regional market". The report specially calculated an account: Mbappé's previous annual endorsement revenue in the Chinese market was close to 22 million euros, accounting for 38% of his total global personal commercial income. The collective termination of contracts by a number of leading brands this time directly made him lose nearly 40% of his stable commercial income, and there is almost no possibility of recovery afterwards. Pop Mart Responds to Sharp Performance Drop, Management Cites High Base Combined With Cooling Frenzy Over Reselling Collectible Figures
In response to the sharp performance decline in the third quarter, Pop Mart delivered a detailed response at its earnings call. Chief Operating Officer Si De attributed the performance drop to the abnormally high base in the same period of 2025 and the fading popularity of the "collectible figure reselling" frenzy in the second-hand market. He noted that the third quarter of last year marked the highest single-quarter sales in the company's history, and the concentrated burst of business activity created enormous year-on-year pressure this year. Meanwhile, online channels saw extremely high popularity driven by panic buying and reselling hype in the third quarter of last year, forming an abnormally elevated base. The obvious cooling of the collectible figure reselling frenzy in the secondary market this year is the top reason for the far steeper decline in online channel performance.
Facing performance pressure, the company has clarified its response keynote of "protecting the brand and avoiding price wars". Si De explicitly stated at the earnings call that the company will not use large full-reduction promotions or discounts to drive online sales, and the focus of online operations will return to normal retail to weaken the reselling attribute of its products. At present, the company's inventory level has started to drop since August, and has shown a clear downward trend by the end of September. The management emphasized that "large-scale promotional activities will not be launched for the time being". (Jiemian News, National Business Daily)

During the Floatboat Workbench live session, three real users will demonstrate three completely different operation modes for the content, foreign trade and education industries, with on-site interactions and discussions as the audience watches the demonstration.
What's the biggest mess you've ever made in your life?
It could be a work project that completely failed, a critical exam you messed up, a broken relationship, or a bad decision that led to adverse outcomes. At the moment you caused the trouble and stepped into the trap, what thought crossed your mind? It's all over, the sky is falling, my whole life is ruined.
We are accustomed to equating a single mistake with total life failure, but did these problems or failures really bring catastrophic consequences? Probably not. Things will always settle down slowly, and life still needs to move forward.
