Kunyu Quantum develops quantum imaging technologies to address the perception challenges in complex environments.
Target identification for low-altitude small UAVs and target observation in turbid water are the two priority application directions that Kunyu Quantum has chosen to enter first. These two scenarios share a common problem: complex backgrounds, optical interference or water scattering will affect the visual perception system to obtain effective target information.
Founded in 2022, Beijing Kunyu Quantum Technology Co., Ltd. has its core technology derived from the scientific research team of the Department of Physics of Tsinghua University, and is committed to promoting the productization of quantum correlated imaging technology. At present, the company has completed the development of the first-generation engineering prototype "Yujian No.1", which was officially released at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services. In the next step, the company plans to cooperate with industrial partners to carry out real-scene tests, so as to promote engineering optimization and product finalization.
From Correlated Imaging Algorithm to Engineering Prototype
Quantum correlated imaging reconstructs target images through the correlation information between light fields. A key problem for its practical application is how to reduce the burden of data storage and computation, so that the system can complete imaging in time and gradually reduce the equipment volume.
To solve this problem, the Tsinghua scientific research team proposed the Instant Ghost Imaging (IGI) algorithm, which uses the difference of adjacent sampling signals for calculation, gradually completes image reconstruction during the sampling process, and reduces the dependence on massive data storage and offline processing. The team also carried out research on related hardware systems to provide a basis for real-time imaging and equipment integration.
Based on these research accumulations, Kunyu Quantum promotes the combination of algorithm and hardware, deploys imaging calculation on the FPGA platform, and integrates the optical path, control and computing system to form the first-generation engineering prototype "Yujian No.1".
The differentiated direction that the company hopes to explore is the ability to obtain target information under the conditions of complex background, optical interference and water scattering. Among them, the storage requirements and calculation methods of the algorithm have been supported by existing research; the effective distance, imaging quality and operation stability of products in specific industry environments need to be clarified through subsequent tests.
In terms of technology attention, quantum correlated imaging technology was selected as one of the 9 global cutting-edge new energy vehicle technologies released at the 2025 World New Energy Vehicle Congress.
Focus on UAV Early Warning and Underwater Vision, Explore Equipment and Module Supply Mode
Kunyu Quantum chooses to start with scenarios with clear demands.
In the direction of UAV early warning, the company focuses on the demands for detection, imaging and confirmation of low-altitude small targets under complex backgrounds, and hopes to explore the application mode of quantum imaging equipment cooperating with existing early warning systems. At present, the company has carried out demand docking and technical exchanges with relevant government departments and industrial enterprises to understand application conditions and system integration requirements.
In the direction of underwater vision, the company focuses on the impact of water scattering and light attenuation on target observation, and targets manufacturers of underwater robots, detection and inspection equipment, as well as industrial users in water conservancy and hydropower, underwater facility detection and other industries to find opportunities for joint verification.
In terms of commercialization paths, the company plans to first carry out testing and adaptation with industrial partners using imaging equipment to promote product finalization and delivery; as the miniaturization and integration R&D advances, it will gradually provide core devices and imaging modules to downstream equipment manufacturers, and partners will complete the industry system integration and application implementation.
This model is still in the promotion stage. What the company is currently prioritizing to find are partners with clear demands, real scenarios and test conditions, and willingness to participate in joint verification.
Angel Round Financing is Being Cleared, with Scenario Verification as the Next Priority
The team of Kunyu Quantum is composed of scientific research personnel and achievement transformation personnel. Li Jiaqiang, founder and chairman, is a researcher at Tsinghua University, who has undertaken relevant work in teaching management, continuing education, foundation and advanced research institute of the university, and led the promotion of the transformation and industrialization of quantum imaging technology achievements.
Long Guiru, the scientific research leader, is a professor in the Department of Physics of Tsinghua University, who proposed the quantum precise "Long Algorithm" for search and the new paradigm of quantum direct communication, and is responsible for technical innovation and R&D direction guidance. Li Junlin, chief scientist, is a doctor and associate professor in the Department of Physics of Tsinghua University, who has long been engaged in research on quantum optics, laser imaging and precision measurement, and is responsible for IGI algorithm optimization, application technology tackling and product engineering R&D.
At present, the company has completed the development and release of the engineering prototype, and has not carried out real-scene tests. The information collected in the early stage mainly comes from demand exchanges with potential users, involving target detection and imaging effects, equipment stability, and adaptation requirements with existing systems.
In the next stage, the company plans to jointly formulate test plans with industrial partners, verify the product performance and applicable boundaries in the real environment, then optimize the equipment volume, power consumption, reliability and interface design according to the results, and gradually promote product finalization and small-batch trial production. Chip-based implementation is the follow-up R&D direction, and the FPGA hardware implementation that has been completed so far is the engineering foundation in this process.
In terms of financing, the angel round of Kunyu Quantum is in the process of delivery. The funds from this round will be mainly used to support the construction of the engineering team, product iteration and scenario verification. The company also hopes to connect with industrial partners who have application scenarios and system integration capabilities to speed up the connection between technology and actual demands.
Kuang Liang, CEO of the company, believes that from scientific research achievements to products that customers can use, it is necessary to continuously solve specific problems such as stable operation, system adaptation and cost control. For Kunyu Quantum at the current stage, forming products that can meet customer demands through real-scene verification is the focus of the next step.
