As the pre-order of iPhone Duo enters the countdown phase, the number of reservations on JD.com has exceeded 2 million, and the agency purchasing fee for snatching the product on behalf of others has been hyped up to 888 yuan.

Apple's first foldable smartphone iPhone Duo will officially open for pre-orders at 8 p.m. on October 16, and will go on sale officially on October 23.

With only about one day left before the pre-order launch, market enthusiasm around this product has been rising rapidly over the past period of time.

On October 15, Jiemian News found through inquiry that the number of people who have reserved this model on the JD platform has exceeded 2 million. The starting price of the Chinese mainland version is 15,999 yuan. For the first batch of products on the JD channel, consumers are required to activate the device in person upon receipt, and orders that fail to complete the activation process will be cancelled directly.

The personal shopper agency chain has also been fully launched long before the official pre-order. Multiple stores on Xianyu have launched first-release rush-purchasing proxy services, with the overall price ranging from 300 yuan to 1,000 yuan.

Jiemian News saw a store on Xianyu offering a rush-purchasing proxy service at a price of 599 yuan, with a displayed 100% success rate. But when Jiemian News sent a private message to the store, the respondent said: "The service fee for the Duo foldable phone proxy purchase is 888 yuan. Pre-orders open on October 16, and the official release is on October 23. You can pick up the device at an official Apple offline store on one of the three days from 23rd to 25th before the first batch release."

When Jiemian News consulted whether the proxy rush purchase could guarantee success, the respondent said: "We cannot guarantee a 100% success rate, the probability is about 80%."

Another store also told Jiemian News: "No charge if we fail. The current proxy purchase price for Duo is 600 yuan per unit. For successful proxy purchases completed between 16th and 23rd, you can pick up the device from 23rd to 25th; for successful purchases completed on 24th, you can pick up the device on the same day or the next day."

In addition, many people have posted information about queuing up for proxy rush purchases on social platforms. For example, some claimed that they will queue up for the proxy rush purchase on the morning of the 16th, with optional colors and storage versions, and the device needs to be activated on site.

iPhone Duo was officially unveiled at Apple's autumn new product launch event in the early hours of Beijing time on September 10, 2026 (September 9 US time), which is Apple's first foldable smartphone. The iPhone Duo adopts a left-right inward fold design. When closed, the outer screen is 5.4 inches, and when unfolded, it is a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR screen, making it the iPhone with the largest screen size so far. He pointed out in July that the waiting time after pre-orders open may quickly extend to 4 to 6 weeks or even longer, and the premium in the second-hand market may reach 50% to 100% of the official selling price. By comparison, the shipment volume of the iPhone 18 Pro series in the same period is between 20 million and 22 million units per quarter, while the supply of iPhone Duo is less than one-tenth of that figure.

The root cause of the tight supply lies in the process challenges of foldable screens. According to supply chain sources, the mass production yield of iPhone Duo is only 65%, with a daily output of only a few hundred units, and the mass production ramp-up is slow. The complexity of links such as hinge assembly and flexible screen lamination determines that the initial supply cannot be rapidly increased.
