Foxconn and IAT have jointly established Futekang to build a mass production platform for embodied intelligent robots.

On September 21, the founding ceremony of Beijing Fute Kang Intelligent Robot Technology Co., Ltd. themed "Intelligent Manufacturing Aggregates the Chain, Forges New Momentum for Growth" and its partner signing ceremony was grandly held in Yizhuang, Beijing. At the event, Foxconn Technology Group and IAT jointly announced the official establishment of the joint venture Beijing Fute Kang Intelligent Robot Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fute Kang).

On the same day, Fute Kang signed cooperation agreements with a number of leading outstanding enterprises in the industry, including InnoMind Tech, Songyan Power, Shanghai Kepler and RoboParty. This series of moves marks a substantive leap of Foxconn and IAT from technical cooperation to physical operation, and also means that the embodied intelligent robot sector has its first industrial service platform covering the whole chain of "R&D + manufacturing".

Breaking through mass production bottlenecks, unclogging blockages in industrial development

At present, the mass production of the robot industry still faces prominent bottlenecks. Although the iteration of embodied intelligence algorithms is rapid, there are still three major unbroken hurdles between laboratory prototypes and large-scale mass production: supply chain integration, engineering verification and manufacturing cost, and a large number of innovative projects are stuck at the sample stage. The small-batch demand in the existing market can barely be sustained, but once the industrial scale expands, this shortboard will form a substantial development constraint. To solve this problem, Foxconn, the global leader in precision manufacturing, jointly launched the full-stack robot "Turn-Key" platform covering five dimensions of R&D, production, training, sales and investment with IAT. Fute Kang, established on this occasion, is exactly the physical operation carrier of this platform, which deeply integrates Foxconn's world-class manufacturing capabilities and IAT's automotive-grade R&D capabilities, provides the industry with full-stack services from concept to mass production, and fully embraces the era of intelligent robots.

As the operating entity of the Turn-Key platform, Fute Kang will systematically integrate Foxconn's manufacturing and supply chain system, IAT's core technologies and automotive customer resources, open the closed loop of "technology R&D — pilot test for productization — large-scale mass production", create a new paradigm of intelligent supply chain, and accelerate expansion to diverse industrial scenarios with the help of the customer accumulation of both parties in the automotive industry and electronics industry. Relying on engineering capabilities and large-scale bargaining advantages, combined with mature supply chain strengths, it will significantly reduce the costs of pilot test and mass production. The joint venture will accurately seize the scarce engineering implementation link in the industry, and build a first-mover advantage during the key transition period when the industry moves from "making prototypes" to "making products". A relevant person in charge of Fute Kang said at the event: "What Fute Kang aims to do is to turn the possibilities in the laboratory into the reliable certainties on the production line. The certainty of mass production is the premise of industrial explosion."

In the roundtable forum themed "From Prototype to Mass Production — The Industrialization Leap Road of Embodied Intelligence", industry guests from InnoMind Tech, RoboParty, Kepler Robotics, Songyan Power and Wheeltronics all agreed that the mass production bottleneck does not lie in technical demonstrations, but in engineering capabilities, scenario-based delivery and industrial chain collaboration; what customers pay for in the end is not the hardware itself, but quantifiable and replicable scenario value. With automotive-grade engineering capabilities and precision manufacturing as the foundation, the Fute Kang Turn-Key platform is providing critical support for the industry to cross the mass production gap.

Joint efforts of R&D and manufacturing to empower the embodied intelligence ecosystem

This cooperation between Foxconn and IAT is a strong alliance of the world's top leading manufacturing capabilities and industrial R&D capabilities. As China's leading independent automotive R&D enterprise, IAT has more than 20 years of development experience and accumulated 500 vehicle models, with mature capabilities in structural dynamics, engineering simulation, supply chain integration, automotive-grade verification and other fields, as well as the advantage of integrating the supply chain for overseas expansion. IAT has made in-depth layout in the robot sector: it has established cooperative relations with a number of enterprises including Wheeltronics, Yuxin Tech and Galaxy Universal. Multiple partner products were also showcased at the event, demonstrating the concept of ecological collaboration. Xuan Qiwu, Chairman of IAT, said: "Embodied intelligence requires multi-party collaboration. Under this concept, Fute Kang provides full-stack services for innovative teams from concept to mass production, helping more projects cross the 'last mile'."

At present, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area has gathered more than 300 leading enterprises and innovation entities in the robot and embodied intelligence sector, with the overall industrial chain scale exceeding 20 billion yuan, forming a complete ecological matrix covering core components, system integration, scenario demonstration and financial support, where policy dividends and innovation factors converge and resonate. The official settlement of Fute Kang not only complements the regional industrial map, but also radiates core industrial clusters across the country with the hub effect of a platform-based enterprise, drives collaborative innovation of upstream and downstream parties, and accelerates the formation of a cross-regionally linked robot industrialization network. At the same time, relying on the global capabilities of both parties, it will help Chinese robots occupy a strategic high ground in the global intelligent equipment competition landscape, and truly realize "Smart Made in China, Connecting the World".
