The names of all stations on Beijing Subway Line 22 have been announced, and the line will be open to traffic by the end of this year.

According to the plan, Line 22 of the rail transit (Hongmiao - Pinggu) will be basically ready for operation by the end of the year, which is the first urban rail transit line spanning Beijing and Hebei. All preparations before the opening of Line 22 are also in full swing.

Today, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources has officially announced the final names of 11 stations on the Beijing section of Line 22.

Back in July this year, Sanhe City, Hebei Province had already announced the final registered names of 5 stations on the Hebei section of Line 22. So far, the names of all stations on Line 22 have been confirmed.

Line 22 (Hongmiao - Pinggu) starts from Hongmiao in Chaoyang District in the west and ends at Pinggu New Town in the east, with a total length of about 79.1 kilometers and 20 stations in total (15 in the Beijing section and 5 in the Hebei section).

The 11 station names announced today for the Beijing section of Line 22 are respectively: Pinggu Station, Guononggang Station, Machangying Station, Mafang Logistics Port Station, Luyuan East Station, Luyuan Station, Furong West Road Station, Yongshun Station, Dingfuzhuang Station, Ganluyuan Station, Ciyunsi Station.

Compared with the previously publicized station name plan, the name "Agricultural Zhongguancun Station" was not adopted, and the original project name "Machangying Station" was used instead; the previously planned "Ciyunsi Bridge Station" was finally renamed to "Ciyunsi Station".

Some followers may wonder, isn't there 15 stations on the Beijing section of Line 22 (the section to be opened by the end of the year)? Why are only 11 station names announced?

The reason is that among the 15 stations, the names of 4 transfer stations have been confirmed along with other connected lines. For example, Hongmiao Station is the transfer station for Line 22 and Line 14. Guanzhuang Station is the transfer station for Batong Line of the subway.

The 5 station names for the Hebei section of Line 22 previously announced by Sanhe City are respectively: Yanjiao Station, Shenwei Street Station, Chaobai Street Station, Gaolou Station, Qixinzhuang Station.

So far, all station names of Line 22 have been confirmed and announced.

Line 22 is the "artery" for regional transport interconnection. This line has prominent speed advantages, with a maximum speed of 160 km/h on the elevated section and 120 km/h on the underground section, realizing the perfect combination of "high-speed rail speed" and "subway coverage density". By then, the travel time from Yanjiao Town in Hebei to the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center will be as short as 9 minutes at the fastest, and the trip to Hongmiao Station at the core of Chaoyang CBD will take about 28 minutes at the fastest.
