Every year, 550,000 people die of sudden cardiac death, with a distinct trend of younger age groups being affected: Guiyu uses "digital last wills" for preservation, giving a proper place for those unspoken words to rest.
550,000 people suffer from sudden cardiac death every year, with one case occurring on average per minute
"If accidents happen in life, who would you want to deliver the words you never got to say on your behalf?" This question is the origin of "Guiyu", a project under Hangzhou Xiaoyou Zuowei Technology Service Co., Ltd. Its founder Lv Fengyuan found that as the overwork of workers caused by involution becomes increasingly serious, the number of sudden deaths is rising year by year, with a clear trend of younger age — in 2024, a total of 550,000 people died of sudden cardiac death. Ten years ago, in 2015, young people aged 18 to 35 accounted for 12% of all sudden cardiac death cases. In 2025, this figure has risen to 28%.
These unplanned accidental deaths often leave no will or last words. The absence of property distribution, exhortations to family members, and arrangements for one's affairs after death will not only leave regrets for the deceased and their families, but sometimes even cause unnecessary misunderstandings and disputes.
But they did leave in such a way.
Many people do not have a channel to sort out their exhortations in advance. Even if they have relevant ideas, it is difficult to store them in advance in a way of low cost, high privacy and convenient for modification and update at any time, and ensure that the content is accurately delivered to the designated contact after an accident. As the number of Chinese internet users exceeds 1.125 billion, among which there are more than 30 million workers including online car-hailing drivers, long-distance freight bus drivers, and food delivery and courier practitioners. This group of users with potential demand for exhortation storage has not been covered by lightweight products before, and Guiyu was born precisely to target this market gap.
The idea born in the memo meets a team of like-minded people
The development of Guiyu started in August 2024 when founder Lv Fengyuan wrote down the core idea, which was initially just a vague concept in the founder's memo. In September 2025, after discussing with his friends, Lv Fengyuan confirmed the promotion direction, and successively assembled a complete cross-professional team covering product design, front-end and back-end development, and testing: the designer who once led the 0-to-1 construction of the national shopping mall terminal visual evaluation system of Red Star Macalline and has the experience of integrated online and offline design of the Alibaba system is responsible for the brand visual construction; the technical leader with many years of experience in large-scale system architecture across industries leads the overall technical framework, and the core members of each module have full-link experience in the 0-to-1 implementation of internet projects. During the team formation process, most of the core members joined because of their recognition of the social value of the project. In the initial stage, they promoted the development in their spare time while taking into account their existing work, and overcame challenges such as collaboration rhythm coordination and limited resources. At present, the beta version of the App has been developed, and multiple rounds of testing and optimization are underway. The official version based on native development is expected to be launched at the end of September 2026.
Simple services and extremely low cost — so light that you don't need to hesitate, and will not become a burden on anyone's life
Different from the heavy and complex professional legal service, Guiyu has three core advantages: "easy to get started, extremely low tariff, privacy and security". The product supports three triggering mechanisms: no check-in for multiple consecutive days, manual set countdown not cancelled, and specific date. After triggering, the pre-stored content can be delivered to the designated contact through the method selected by the user such as SMS and email, and more delivery possibilities will be explored in the future. At the technical level, the team has taken privacy and security as the core position from the initial stage of the project. The architect led the planning of a complete data security mechanism, the back-end development has made multi-layer optimizations specifically for data storage security, and the full-link security scenarios are covered in the testing phase, to ensure that the content stored by users will not be accessed by any third party before the triggering condition is met. In terms of tariff, Guiyu currently sets an extremely low price of 1 yuan per month and 10 yuan per year, and only plans to launch value-added functions to expand profit space in the future, so as to lower the user's usage threshold as much as possible.
Overwork and sub-health have become common phenomena, and the market space is broader than imagined
According to the statistics of the project team, there are about 30 million workers including online car-hailing drivers, long-distance passenger and truck drivers, food delivery and courier practitioners in China. Combined with groups such as employees of large internet factories with potential demands, the overall market space is broad, and the goal of Guiyu is to cover all users in need with reliable services. At present, the project is promoting user testing, and many users participating in the internal test said: "I never thought that I could store the words I wanted to say in advance at such a low cost before, this function hits the hidden worry that has always existed", "The operation is very simple, I don't need to spend a lot of time to set it up, and I feel much more at ease". In terms of business model, Guiyu currently focuses on basic service subscription fees, and will gradually launch value-added services to expand revenue sources in the future. This round of the project plans to raise 3 million to 4.5 million RMB, and intends to transfer 10% to 15% of the shares. The equity structure reserves employee incentive shares to support the subsequent team expansion.
There are so many things that Guiyu can do in the future
For the future, Guiyu has already formulated a clear development roadmap: after obtaining financing, it will first start talent recruitment, promote multi-terminal adaptation for Android, HarmonyOS and web pages. In the fourth quarter of 2026, it plans to launch a full set of will establishment functions with complete legal effect. In the first quarter of 2027, it will cooperate with regular law firms to carry out value-added legal consulting services, and in the second quarter, it plans to explore the international layout of the product. Looking back on the entrepreneurial process, founder Lv Fengyuan said that the purpose of doing this project is not to make a niche gimmick product, but to truly see the unmet needs of many ordinary people. "We hope to give everyone with concerns a solid guarantee, so that the words that were never spoken can eventually find their destination."
