From dating background checks to identity verification, AI is entering more scenarios where overseas users "get to know a person".

"Within three minutes, I want all the information about this person." This line, which once appeared in various online novels and vertical short dramas, has become a classic line spoken by overbearing CEOs to their assistants.

In today's overseas market, this line has evolved into an AI search App, which has driven users in Latin America to pay a total of over 1 million US dollars in the past 30 days.

On September 9, 2026, Deepsearch AI Search Assistant (hereinafter referred to as "Deepsearch AI") ranked No. 9 on the free overall chart of Google Play in Brazil. Before that, it gradually climbed from No. 178 on the overall chart on August 15 to the top 10. At present, it is also ranked in the top 10 of the Google Lifestyle chart in more than 130 countries and regions around the world.

In terms of download volume alone, according to Diandian Data, the cumulative download volume of Deepsearch AI on both Google Play and App Store worldwide in the past 30 days has reached 4.196 million, with a month-on-month increase of about 100.8%. Its revenue growth is also noteworthy: in the past 30 days, the in-app purchase revenue of Deepsearch AI reached 1.895 million US dollars, an increase of about 171.6% over the same period; among them, nearly half of the revenue comes from the Brazilian market, and the total payment contributed by Latin American countries exceeds 1 million US dollars.

Tracing back to the manufacturer behind Deepsearch AI, it turns out to be an "acquaintance". The developer entity of Deepsearch AI on Google Play is shown as the Turkish company TapSuite, which is one of the product studios under HubX, the Turkish "App Factory". On August 28, 2026, HubX announced that it had obtained its first external investment — 75 million US dollars from private equity firm Point72, which will be used to launch its acquisition strategy. It is reported that since HubX was founded in 2022, the company has been operating entirely on its own, operating on a self-financing basis without any external investment before.

From HubX to TapSuite, and then to Deepsearch AI, through this AI product incubation chain, we can see how AI applications find differentiated breakthroughs under the dominance of track giants, and how user demands in emerging markets are transformed into download and payment performance in specific products.

The "person-finding" AI assistant for "overbearing CEO" users: another App implementation that combines user demands with usage scenarios

In the past two years, AI search has once become one of the most concerned directions for overseas AI application entrepreneurship. From Perplexity, which has raised endless rounds of financing, to Seekee, which builds all-around AI and sweeps the Latin American market, AI search Apps are constantly trying to take users away from traditional search engines.

At the same time, the popularization of generative AI is also changing users' original information retrieval habits. A consumer survey released by Gartner in early 2026 shows that 51% of consumers said that generative AI has changed their research habits; at the same time, about one third of consumers believe that generative AI chatbots are already comparable to traditional search engines in obtaining new information.

For AI search products, the question they must answer has also become: when search has become the basic capability of general AI, how to stimulate users' willingness to download and even pay for an unfamiliar AI search App?

Deepsearch AI chose to give up knowledge content search, learning, office and other skills, and focused its functions on the single search action of "finding people".

According to Diandian Data, Deepsearch AI was launched in April 2025. Its operator HubX (TapSuite) has never had much "geek burden" when incubating products, and they pay more attention to down-to-earth user demands, as well as specific and high-conversion practical scenarios.

Open the application, users can directly enter the full name of a person for query. Deepsearch AI claims that it can find anyone by name, and seamlessly connect to get their social media accounts, with information usually generated in about 1 minute.

In the process of practice, the author entered the name of the famous singer Taylor Swift for query, and obtained a personal "encyclopedia profile" like a business card. It is worth noting that the system will attach information sources under the "encyclopedia business card", which come from Taylor Swift's official X, Instagram, YouTube social media accounts, as well as the official personal homepages of singers on some music platforms.

Below the information source, Deepsearch AI, as promised, attached multiple personal social media accounts of Taylor Swift, click to jump directly.

The last section is similar to the "People also search for" section in traditional search engines, where many questions related to Taylor Swift are attached. It is worth noting that in addition to these system-provided questions, Deepsearch AI also allows users to ask free questions in the dialog box at the bottom, but this function can only be used after users activate subscription payment.

At present, Deepsearch AI offers three tiers of Pro version subscriptions with different cycles, the specific prices are: $1.99/month, $3.99/quarter, $59.99/year.

In the official statement, talent recruitment is one of the high-frequency usage scenarios of Deepsearch AI. For example, after HR completes personnel recruitment, they need to conduct background checks on candidates and find the candidates' public social media accounts; headhunters need to find the candidates' public email addresses by name to send job invitations.

In addition to talent recruitment, from the user usage reviews displayed on the official website, we can also find that some people use Deepsearch AI to verify the identity of online friends to prevent themselves from falling into fraud; some people also said that they found the social media account of an old friend through Deepsearch AI, and reconnected with that person who had been out of touch for many years.

From "Running a Background Check on a Person" to "Generating a Person"

The Privacy Boundary of AI Person-finding

Also about "finding people", this can't help but remind the author of Tea, the female dating background check application that became popular last summer.

Tea solves the "person-finding" demand in the female dating scenario: users can upload photos of their dates to identify whether there is photo theft through reverse image search; they can also query information such as marriage and public records through phone numbers, and conduct background checks, including public criminal records, sex offender registration information, etc.

At the same time, the most distinctive feature of Tea is that women can anonymously post their experiences after dating a man, other users can supplement information, remind risks, and give "green flags" or "red flags".

Once this demand is verified, replication comes very quickly. After Tea became popular, "TeaOnHer" for male users soon appeared on the market. The product logic almost directly copies Tea, turning the dating safety demand that originally centered on women into a "dating background check" for men.

However, the emergence of such products is not a newly created demand. In the overseas Internet environment, the ways for people to establish connections with strangers are increasing: Dating App, social media, and professional social platforms allow users to quickly get to know strangers, but at the same time, identity verification has become a rigid demand. In the past, these problems might require users to search and judge by themselves, or even rely on acquaintance networks for confirmation, but now they are packaged as standardized information services.

Compared with Tea, which focuses on the vertical scenario of dating safety, Deepsearch AI further expands the application scope of "finding people". To a certain extent, Deepsearch AI is like a porter of online information, and also like an AI private detective.

However, data security and privacy are not only the key issues that background check products like Tea need to consider. Deepsearch AI also needs to take some measures in terms of data security, for example, the application sets an age threshold for users aged 13 and above; at the same time, the application states that it will not collect information of children under 13 years old.

Deepsearch AI emphasizes in its privacy policy that the application mainly integrates public information that already exists on the Internet, and will not access non-public content such as private accounts and private messages. Its positioning is also an information research tool based on public materials.

It is worth noting that on social media, a single public personal homepage or a piece of dynamic information may be very ordinary; but when AI, with its powerful search and analysis capabilities, cross-platform integrates the fragmented information of a person scattered on social platforms, early registered forums and abandoned accounts, it often forms a more detailed personal profile. This is another boundary issue worthy of in-depth study.

From the perspective of commercial performance, the demand of overseas users for such products does exist. According to Diandian Data, from January 2025 to July 2026, 63.76% of the downloads of Deepsearch AI came from paid display. Combined with BigBigAds data, since its launch, Deepsearch AI has placed a total of 860,000 related ads, with 410,000 entries after default deduplication.

Among them, one of the ads with the highest display valuation reached 84.62 million. This ad revolves around male and female relationships, emphasizing that users can search for public information of ordinary people through the App, and uses emotionally stimulating copywriting such as "Find your girlfriend's TikTok alternate account".
