August Highlights:

1. In August, 313 investment and financing events took place in the artificial intelligence market, with the disclosed total financing amount reaching 351.59 billion yuan.

2. There were 59 investment events with a financing amount of over 100 million yuan.

3. 1 Pre-IPO event occurred in the artificial intelligence sector in August.

4. Among all financing events, excluding equity investment, the angel round / angel+ round financing accounted for the highest proportion, with 36 events in total, taking up 12%.

01. 313 investment and financing events in the AI market in August, with disclosed financing amount of 351.59 billion yuan

According to Xiniu Data, in August 2026, a total of 313 investment and financing events occurred in China's artificial intelligence sector, with the disclosed financing amount reaching 351.59 billion yuan, ranking the second in the total financing amount across all industries. (Note: The total disclosed financing amount here refers to the investment and financing events in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), excluding mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and investment events at post-IPO stages.)

Compared with July 2026, the number of investment and financing events in the artificial intelligence sector decreased by 11, the disclosed financing amount dropped by about 53%, and there were 201 events with undisclosed financing amount.

Excluding mergers and acquisitions, debt financing and NEEQ events, the largest deal was the $900 million equity financing for humanoid robot developer XPeng Robotics, led by IDG Capital, with GL Ventures, Tencent Investment (00700) and Alibaba (BABA) participating as follow-on investors.

Compared with the same period in 2025, the number of investment and financing events increased by 150, and the financing amount quadrupled.

Among all segmented tracks, the embodied intelligence & robot sector ranks first in the number of investment and financing events, with 77 events in total, accounting for 25%; AI medical treatment ranks second with 43 events; R&D of basic artificial intelligence technologies ranks third, accounting for 12%.

Compared with July, the number of investment and financing events in the embodied intelligence & robot sector increased by 8, and the embodied intelligence & robot industry is ushering in a boom.

From the perspective of financing rounds, excluding mergers and acquisitions, debt financing and NEEQ, among the 313 investment and financing events in August, the number of enterprises completing equity financing is the largest, with 169 events. There were 5 B/B+ round financing events in August, 6 less than that in July, and 2 C/C+ round financing events in total.

1 Pre-IPO event occurred in August. At the node of sprinting for listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Bolei Technology obtained a financing of over 100 million yuan jointly invested by Rio Tinto Group, CITIC Group and Xiamen Tungsten. The investment entities of Rio Tinto and CITIC are Suzhou Rio Tinto Xinxin Equity Investment Fund, which is jointly initiated by CITIC Investment Holdings, its wholly-owned subsidiary CITIC Private Equity, Rio Tinto Group, Shaanxi Coal Geology Group and other parties, and it is the first industrial fund that Rio Tinto participated in setting up in China. From the perspective of financing amount, excluding undisclosed events, the number of 100 million-1 billion level and 10 million level investment and financing events is the highest, with 54 events in total, accounting for 17%, 13 less than that in July. There were 2 million-level investment and financing events, and 5 events with a financing amount of over 1 billion yuan.

02. Key financing events this month

1. Gongji Computing completes equity financing, and the computing power scheduling network continues to expand its scale

On August 1, Gongji Computing (Beijing Gongji Technology), a computing power scheduling enterprise, completed a new round of equity financing, with new and old shareholders continuously increasing their positions through capital increase and share expansion (the specific capital increase amount is not disclosed). The company grew out of Tsinghua Laboratory, connects multiple distributed computing power with the concept of "power grid of computing", and has accessed and managed more than 700,000 heterogeneous devices. On August 3, embodied perception enterprise Pacini Perception Technology announced the completion of 1 billion yuan strategic investment, led by BOC International Investment, Inno Investment, Anker Innovations, Hefei Industrial Investment, Jiahé Capital, Hechuang Capital, etc., jointly invested by CDH Investments, Chengdu Jiaozi Artificial Intelligence Fund, and Jinrong Guosheng, with old shareholder Zhilai Capital making an over-allocation. On August 5, Om AI Lianhui (Lianhui Technology), an end-side multimodal large model enterprise, completed hundreds of millions of yuan equity investment, with Qianhai Mother Fund increasing its position as the lead investor, and Hangzhou Municipal Industrial Fund and multiple capitals participating synergistically.
