According to Nanchang Daily, on September 8, the signing ceremony for two major projects of Huaqin, namely the Nanchang R&D Center and High-end Intelligent Manufacturing Project, and the Embodied Intelligent Robot R&D and Manufacturing Base and Data Collection Center Project, was held. Sheng Qiuping, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Nanchang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Working Committee of Ganjiang New Area, met with Qiu Wensheng, Chairman and CEO of Huaqin Technology, and witnessed the signing.

Qiu Wensheng introduced the business layout of Huaqin in Nanchang, and expressed his gratitude to the Nanchang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for their strong support for the enterprise's development. He noted that Nanchang boasts a solid industrial foundation and superior development environment, and he is fully confident in the development of the enterprise's projects in Nanchang. The company will actively seize the development opportunities of Nanchang, continuously expand new cooperation fields, gather more industrial and talent resources, and make greater contributions to the high-quality economic and social development of Nanchang.

Mei Yi, Mayor of Nanchang, and municipal leaders Gao Huihong and Chen Yan attended the event.

The electronic information industry is currently the largest industry in Jiangxi in terms of scale, but it has long been plagued by problems such as insufficient innovation capacity, weak leading driving force, and limited types of terminal products. Jiangxi previously put forward the initiative to focus on increasing the proportion of high-end terminal products, and promote the gradual transfer of enterprise headquarters, R&D centers, key component production lines and terminal assembly sectors to Jiangxi.

As the provincial capital in central China that is closest to the 1-trillion-yuan GDP threshold, Nanchang has set the target of lifting its total economic output above 1 trillion yuan by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The electronic information industrial chain is the industrial chain with the largest total operating revenue in the city, posting a revenue of about 290 billion yuan in 2025, up more than 40% from 2020 and ranking first across the province in scale.

Nanchang High-tech Zone, where the two Huaqin projects are signed to settle this time, is one of the core bearing areas of Nanchang's electronic information industry. Centering on the ecological layout of high-end terminal products, Nanchang High-tech Zone has proposed to leverage the agglomeration advantage of ODM complete machine enterprises to expand to high value-added categories such as AI mobile phones, PCs, smart glasses and high-performance servers; meanwhile, relying on the dual-track development model of Huaqin Technology featuring "external merger and acquisition + internal independent R&D", it will push the robot-related manufacturing businesses to take root in Nanchang.

Public data shows that Huaqin Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2005 with its headquarters in Shanghai. It is a leading player in the global intelligent hardware ODM industry, focusing on R&D and manufacturing of multiple categories of intelligent hardware, and has the advantage of in-depth services across the entire industrial chain. To date, Huaqin Technology has completed dual listing on the A-share and H-share markets. In the first half of 2026, Huaqin Technology recorded a revenue of 937.2 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.7%; its net profit attributable to shareholders reached 30 billion yuan, up 58.8% year on year.

The earliest cooperation between Huaqin and Nanchang can be traced back to 2017 — in April of that year, Huaqin Technology invested in a notebook manufacturing center project in Nanchang High-tech Zone. In 2019, the year the project was put into operation, its operating revenue exceeded 10 billion yuan. In April 2020, Huaqin invested an additional 100 billion yuan to build the second manufacturing center, which focuses on the R&D and production of smartphones, tablets and smart wearable devices. By 2025, the notebook manufacturing center of Nanchang Huaqin has ranked among the top four notebook ODM production bases worldwide.

In April this year, Huaqin Technology also registered Nanchang Yijie Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. in Nanchang High-tech Zone, which will adopt the "1+1+1" model: 1 data collection robot assembly line, 1 wheeled robot assembly line, and 1 data collection center, to realize the coordinated linkage between robot production and data collection. The project is expected to complete construction and be put into operation gradually in the fourth quarter of this year.

From the perspective of the whole industry, 2026 is recognized as the first year for small-batch commercial application of embodied intelligence, and the industrial competition has shifted to actual product delivery. Institutional reports indicate that the global shipment of humanoid robots is expected to reach 62,500 units in 2026, a year-on-year increase of around 247%; Chinese manufacturers account for more than 80% of the global total shipment. The focus of industrial competition is shifting from "whether the robot can move" to "whether it can perform tasks stably and achieve large-scale delivery".

Right before this signing ceremony (July 23), Sheng Qiuping also led a team to Shanghai, and held discussions with Qiu Wensheng and other representatives at Huaqin Technology. Sheng Qiuping pointed out that Nanchang is currently implementing the provincial capital leading strategy with greater efforts and more practical measures, to accelerate the high-quality development of the real economy. He expressed the hope that the enterprise will seize the industrial development opportunities in Nanchang, and actively expand new business tracks and new business lines.

It is reported that among the two settled projects, the Huaqin Nanchang R&D Center and High-end Intelligent Manufacturing Project plans to build core functional areas including R&D office zones, production and manufacturing zones, and intelligent warehousing zones, to meet the full life cycle demands of ODM services for intelligent terminal products, and build a benchmark demonstration intelligent manufacturing base.

The Huaqin Embodied Intelligent Robot R&D and Manufacturing Base and Data Collection Center Project will carry out coordinated layout of businesses including independent corpus R&D, hardware design, and complete machine system integration, to provide full-process embodied intelligent robot solutions for leading brands in the industry.
