CheDongXi News on September 1: Today, 13 automakers released their August sales performance. Divided by camps, the delivery volumes of new power brands (including ecological alliances) in August showed obvious differences, which are mainly divided into three categories.
1. Leapmotor's monthly sales hit 100,000 units, setting a new record high with a year-on-year growth rate of over 80%.
In August, Leapmotor delivered 103,100 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 80.7%. Its monthly sales exceeded 100,000 units again, refreshing its single-month delivery record once more.
2. The delivery volumes of 4 new car-making enterprises in August saw a slight year-on-year and month-on-month increase or remained stable, with commendable performance.
Li Auto achieved both year-on-year and month-on-month growth in delivery volume in August, delivering 37,700 new vehicles, up 32.1% year-on-year and 23.7% month-on-month. It sold 7,211 more vehicles than in July this year, reversing the previous consecutive months of year-on-year and month-on-month decline in delivery volume, and its month-on-month growth rate was the highest among the 9 new power brands (including ecological alliances).
Both Hyper AION and XPeng achieved steady growth in delivery volume in the current month.
Xiaomi still delivered over 30,000 units in August. According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, from January to July this year, Xiaomi Auto's retail sales reached 216,300 units. Adding the data of August, the total sales in the first 8 months of this year exceeded 246,300 units. Xiaomi Auto still needs to sell 303,700 units to achieve its annual sales target of 550,000 units, which means it has to deliver an average of 75,900 units per month in the next 4 months to reach the target. The Pengcheng series to be launched in September will be a critical incremental engine for Xiaomi Auto.
3. The delivery volumes of 4 new power brands (including ecological alliances) saw a slight month-on-month decline in August, namely Harmony Intelligent Mobility (-6.5%), NIO (-0.3%), Deepal (-1.9%) and Voyah (-1.4%).

In terms of traditional automakers, BYD, Geely and Chery all achieved both year-on-year and month-on-month growth in sales in August.
Among them, BYD sold over 440,000 vehicles, of which overseas sales exceeded 180,000 units, hitting a new all-time high.
Chery Group sold 280,100 units in August, up 15.4% year-on-year; its exports reached 197,000 units, up 52.1% year-on-year, making it the first Chinese automaker with cumulative exports exceeding 7 million units. Geely Auto Group's total sales in August reached 270,200 units, up 8% year-on-year, of which exports hit 110,000 units, surging 205% year-on-year. Great Wall sold 113,400 units in August, down 1.87% year-on-year but up 4.93% month-on-month.
Overall, most automakers gradually recovered from the traditional off-season in August, driving sales growth by launching new vehicles and rolling out promotion policies, building momentum for the upcoming "Golden September and Silver October" peak sales season.

01. Leapmotor Sells Another 100,000 Units, Fully Striving for 1 Million Annual Sales
The August delivery reports of 9 new power automakers and ecological alliances have been released.
As the sales champion among new power automakers, Leapmotor delivered 103,100 new vehicles in August this year, up 80.7% year-on-year and 1.84% month-on-month, selling 1,862 more units than last month. This marks the second consecutive month that Leapmotor's delivery volume has exceeded 100,000 units.
The official stated that based on the comparable terminal license plate registration numbers in the recent period, Leapmotor ranks among the top four global new energy passenger vehicle brands and top three Chinese new energy passenger vehicle brands.
As of the first 8 months of this year, Leapmotor's cumulative sales have reached 560,900 units, up 70.55% year-on-year.
Leapmotor's target sales for 2026 are 1 million units. It still needs to sell 439,100 units to achieve the full-year sales target, which means that in the next 4 months, Leapmotor only needs to maintain an average monthly sales volume of 109,800 units to complete the annual sales target.

The key reason for the rebound of Li Auto's delivery volume in August is that its extended-range models successfully completed the transition from old versions to new versions.
In the previous period, Li Auto was in the alternating period of clearing inventory for the old L-series and launching facelift models, which had a certain impact on order and delivery rhythm. Entering August, the capacity ramp-up of the new generation L-series models has been basically completed, and production is back on track.
