Henan is implementing a three-year urban renewal action, striving to build 300 complete communities throughout the whole year.

On August 31, the General Office of the People's Government of Henan Province issued the "Notice on Resolutely Winning the Summer and Autumn Campaign for Economic Development and Promoting the Sustained, New, Optimized and Sound Economic Development in the Second Half of 2026 with Key Tasks and Measures", proposing to implement a three-year action plan for key urban renewal projects and carry out in-depth urban physical examinations.

The notice clarifies that high-quality urban renewal will be advanced, policies supporting the functional transformation and mixed utilization of existing buildings will be formulated, an implementation plan for promoting the construction of complete urban communities will be introduced, the urban renewal actions supported by the central government in Zhengzhou and Luoyang will be well implemented, and city-specific policies will be adopted to explore urban renewal models.

The notice puts forward that efforts will be made to build 300 complete communities throughout the year, renovate 2000 old elevators in residential buildings, add more than 50,000 new urban public parking berths, and build 15,000 new charging piles (guns) in the public service sector.
