Frontline | Operation Data of Singularity Energy's Dengkou GWh-scale Grid-side Energy Storage Project Disclosed, Its Comprehensive Efficiency Is 6 Percentage Points Higher Than the Industry Average
With the continuous growth of installed new energy capacity, the power grid has an increasingly urgent demand for flexible regulation resources, and large-scale energy storage power stations are becoming critical infrastructure to support new energy consumption and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system.
Recently, Energy Singularity released the latest operation data of its 500MW/2000MWh energy storage project located in Dengkou County, Bayannur City. As the first GWh-level standalone project delivered by Energy Singularity, it also serves as a large-scale application benchmark for the flagship product Galaxy-1 string-type prefabricated cabin on the generation-grid side. Since it was put into commercial operation in January 2026, the power station has been operating stably for more than half a year.

Operation data shows that by the end of June 2026, the total cumulative charging capacity of the power station has exceeded 400,000 MWh, with a comprehensive conversion efficiency of over 88.5%. According to the 2025 operation data of energy storage power stations released by China Electricity Council, the average comprehensive efficiency of grid-side energy storage is about 82.21%, and the efficiency of this project is more than 6 percentage points higher than the industry average. In scenarios where the power station participates in the spot electricity market, the efficiency advantage will be directly converted into a kilowatt-hour cost advantage, further improving the revenue level of the project.
A total of 400 units of Galaxy-1-4G string-type prefabricated cabins and 100 units of eLink-HV35 confluence and step-up integrated machines are deployed in the Dengkou County project. Adopting the "All in One" design concept, the project integrates 314Ah LFP batteries, BMS, string-type PCS, fire protection and thermal management systems into a 20-foot container. The string-type architecture realizes independent management at the battery cluster level, eliminates inter-cluster circulation and the "wooden barrel effect" from the source, and achieves a charge-discharge depth of 100%, which can effectively improve the system availability and online rate.

According to reports, in the project construction phase, it only took 60 days to complete the delivery of all equipment, and 7 days to finish the whole-station commissioning and the "3 charge & 3 discharge" verification. After being put into commercial operation, in the harsh desert environment, the system online rate of the power station is close to 100%, and no unplanned outage caused by equipment failure has occurred.
In terms of revenue, the power station obtains spread revenue by participating in spot trading in the Western Inner Mongolia power market, and also enjoys discharge capacity subsidies. With the help of Energy Singularity's eTrader intelligent power trading operation platform, the power station can automatically generate multiple sets of declaration strategies for the next day's market and provide AI recommended solutions, and its comprehensive operating revenue in markets such as Western Inner Mongolia and Ningxia has long ranked in the top 10% of the region.
