The upper limit for housing provident fund contributions has been raised! The maximum monthly contribution can reach 8724 yuan!

Just like last year, the social security contribution base for this year was announced relatively late, so the related annual adjustment of the housing provident fund contribution base and its upper limit has also been postponed to the present. 

The Beijing Housing Provident Fund Management Center issued the Notice on Issues Related to Contributions for the 2026 Housing Provident Fund Annual Period last night. The upper limit of the housing provident fund contribution base for this annual period is 36348 yuan.

Calculated at a 12% contribution ratio, the maximum monthly housing provident fund contribution can reach 8724 yuan, which is 130 yuan higher than the upper limit of last year.

The housing provident fund annual period runs from July 1 of each year to June 30 of the next year, instead of starting from January 1 of each year. Therefore, all adjustments to the provident fund bases, including the upper and lower contribution limits, take effect on July 1 of each year. The upper limit of the provident fund contribution base of last year was 35811 yuan, and the maximum monthly provident fund contribution could reach 8594 yuan at the 12% contribution ratio. According to the notice released by the provident fund center, starting from July 1 this year, the upper limit of the housing provident fund contribution base for the 2026 housing provident fund annual period is 36348 yuan, which is 537 yuan higher than that of the previous year. As each employer can currently determine its own provident fund contribution ratio within the range of 5% to 12%, the provident fund center has also released the specific figures of the maximum monthly provident fund contribution under different contribution ratios. 

Among them, for the highest contribution ratio of 12%, the upper limit of monthly contribution amount is 8724 yuan, with 4362 yuan contributed by the employer and 4362 yuan contributed by the individual respectively. If the employer chooses the lowest contribution ratio of 5%, the upper limit of monthly contribution amount will be 3634 yuan, with 1817 yuan contributed by the employer and 1817 yuan contributed by the individual respectively. This time, the provident fund center also announced the lower limit of the monthly provident fund contribution base for the 2026 housing provident fund annual period, which remains unchanged at 2540 yuan as last year, and the lower limit of the monthly contribution base for employees who receive basic living allowances is 1778 yuan.
