Exclusive | ByteDance AI Productivity Integration: TRAE and Coze are merged into Doubao, and a unified office brand "Doubao Work" will be launched.

Exclusive news from Intelligent Emergence shows that ByteDance has completed a team integration for its office AI products: the TRAE and Coze teams will be fully merged into the Doubao system, where TRAE Work and Coze will be integrated with Doubao's product capabilities in work scenarios; TRAE IDE and CLI will continue to develop as the programming product line under the Doubao brand. After the adjustment, all the above product and operation teams will report to Zhao Qi, Head of Doubao Products.
TRAE and Coze originally belonged to ByteDance's Product R&D and Engineering Architecture Department. TRAE was initially positioned as an AI programming product, while Coze was positioned as an AI agent development platform, and both have carried out certain explorations in different Agent directions afterwards. Since the beginning of this year, productivity Agent has become the most important strategic direction for Doubao, and the experience accumulated by TRAE and Coze before will be reused for Doubao in the follow-up.
After this adjustment, ByteDance has further clarified the core AI business positioning of Doubao, and focused the resources of AI office products on Doubao. We also learned that Doubao will launch an independent AI office product "Doubao Work" as soon as this week, serving as the unified product and brand of ByteDance for the AI office scenario.
In response to this news, ByteDance responded that this adjustment aims to better coordinate product and technical resources, provide users with better AI work experience, and the rights and interests of existing users will not be affected.
Over the past week, Doubao has intensively updated office functions including remote computer control, Windows virtual desktop, cloud computer, and side workbench, and launched more than 200 skills and connectors. Meanwhile, an independent "Work" entrance has appeared at the top of the conversation page of the Doubao PC version, allowing users to switch to the Agent mode for handling complex work with one click.
The independent Doubao Work will iterate office product functions more agilely, and will also carry out in-depth integration with Feishu. Previously, ByteDance has completed the organizational integration of Feishu and Doubao, and the original Feishu "Aily Smart Partner" has also been renamed "Doubao Work Partner".
At the all-hands mid-year meeting in August, Liang Rubo, CEO of ByteDance, summarized the company's business strategic principles as "high priority, thick backbone, long-term optimization", stating that the company will focus its energy on the three core businesses of AI, information platform and transaction services. He also expressed the hope that Doubao will become a "backbone" AI business in the future.
