The 2026 World Robot Conference successfully concluded in Beijing.
On August 23, the 5-day 2026 World Robot Conference concluded in Beijing. From the concentrated showcase of cutting-edge technologies to the accelerated transformation of innovative achievements, from the iterative upgrading of robots to the scenario expansion of embodied intelligence, this international grand event themed "Human-Robot Symbiosis, Production-Demand Integration" presents the global technological progress, innovative applications and industrial vitality in the robotics field in all dimensions and multi-aspects through multi-level exchange and seminars, centralized exhibitions, multiple releases of innovative achievements and rich concurrent activities, gathering new momentum for promoting the high-quality development of the robotics industry.

Zhao Yunfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, presided over the closing ceremony.
When summarizing the achievements of the conference, Xu Xiaolan pointed out that this conference is a vivid practice of implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important congratulatory letter to the 2015 World Robot Conference, and a specific action to study and implement the spirit of the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan and make forward-looking arrangements for future industries. The conference set up 7 main forums and 71 concurrent activities, bringing together more than 1,000 domestic and foreign experts, and releasing 44 new technologies and new solutions. The conference released achievements including the "Initiative for the Upward and Benevolent Development of Intelligent Robots", "Top 10 Innovative Robot Achievements and Top 10 High-Value Application Scenarios of Central SOEs", "Application Requirements of Embodied Intelligence in Emergency Scenarios", "Global Robot Application Exploration Plan" and the "2026 Humanoid Robot Industry Development Report", and announced the establishment of the World Model Expert Committee of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. 373 enterprises showcased more than 3,000 products in a centralized manner, including 311 debut new products. 30 international institutions and 40 overseas enterprises participated in depth, more than 10,000 foreign visitors visited the exhibition, and the on-site attendance reached 557,000 person-times, fully demonstrating the influence and appeal of the conference in the global robotics field.
In his address, Zhang Feng stated that this conference demonstrated new robot capabilities, new forces in the innovation team and new achievements in international cooperation. Intelligent robots have moved from talent shows to real operations such as express sorting, noodle cooking, and commodity packaging. In the first half of this year, the shipment volume of humanoid robots in China exceeded 40,000 units, accounting for 97% of the global total. Humanoid robots are moving from "jumping up" and "running around" to "working in factories" and "being used at home". The Central SOE Robot Innovation Consortium will promote the formation of a complete closed loop of technological research, scenario verification and large-scale application by opening up 10 high-value real scenarios.

A public welfare and charity donation ceremony for robots was held at the closing ceremony. The Chinese Institute of Electronics and the Social Service Department of the Central Committee of the Zhi Gong Party jointly coordinated 19 institutions and enterprises including the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and China Industry Information Publishing Media Group to donate 249 sets of robots, a batch of popular science animations and popular science books to Bijie City, Guizhou Province, with a total value of 2 million yuan.

The 2026 World Robot Conference International Academic Conference on Advanced Robotics and Automation received a total of 122 paper submissions from 10 countries including China, the United States, Germany, France, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, covering cutting-edge directions such as robot control, perception, learning, and human-robot interaction. "Design of a Bio-inspired Dexterous Finger with Lateral Compliance and Active Stiffness Regulation Capability" was selected as the Best Conference Paper; "Wearable Knee Joint Assist Robot Based on Artificial Muscle" and "An Audio-supervised Cross-modal Framework Integrating Wearable Electromyography and Inertial Perception: Analysis for Music Performance Expressiveness and Emotional Perception" were selected as Best Student Papers. Xi Ning, Chairman of the Robotics Committee of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Robotics and Automation of the University of Hong Kong, and Director of the Institute of Emerging Technologies, and Alois Knoll, Professor of the Technical University of Munich, Germany, presented certificates to the winners.
A total of 311 new products were showcased at this conference, and representatives of 20 new product releasing enterprises attended the commemorative certificate awarding ceremony at the closing ceremony. Chen Chengchuan, Mohammed Al Shamsi and Jacques Yvan presented commemorative certificates to the enterprise representatives.
The conference continues to build the "Venture & Innovation Star" platform for achievement display, exchange and promotion, and resource docking, to select high-quality innovative projects in robotics and related cutting-edge fields. A total of 10 projects were selected as "Venture & Innovation Star" at this conference. Zhang Jianwei, Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Academician of the National Academy of Engineering of Germany, and Chen Zhihui, President of the ASEAN Smart Industry Federation, presented commemorative certificates to the selected projects.
At the closing ceremony, the conference presented commemorative trophies to JD Group, the global strategic partner, and the Beijing Branch of China Construction Bank, the ecological partner, and presented commemorative plaques to media representatives who have long reported on and supported the conference, to thank partners and media friends for their attention and support to the development of the World Robot Conference and the robotics industry over the years.
The opening time of the 2027 World Robot Conference was also grandly released at the closing ceremony. August 18, 2027, the conference will witness the broader possibilities of human-robot collaboration with all sectors of society, and jointly explore more answers for robots to serve a better human life. The conference also released the global invitation for the 2027 Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon.
