Recently, Zhejiang Huachen Xinguang Technology Co., Ltd. (Huachen Xinguang for short), a domestic IDM laser chip enterprise, announced that it has completed a new round of financing of over 100 million RMB. This round of financing is led by Cowin Capital, with Zhangjiang Yaokun and Hongshan Capital as co-investors, and some existing shareholders making additional follow-on investments. The raised funds will be mainly used to strengthen the construction of multi-series mass-produced chip reliability testing capabilities of Huachen Xinguang.
Huachen Xinguang is firmly committed to the R&D and development path of high-end optical chips. Since the establishment of the company, it has set up a two-wheel drive strategy of "IDM (Integrated Device Manufacturing) chip manufacturing mode" and "R&D of high-reliability high-power single-mode communication laser chips". Through long-term technical research, the company has gradually broken through the underlying manufacturing barriers of high-end optical chips. Its core GaAs product, the 1000mW 974nm/976nm pump laser chip, has passed strict internal tests, with photoelectric performance and reliability comparable to equivalent products from the United States, and the manufacturing cost is about 50% of that of foreign products, making it one of the very few enterprises in the world that can mass-produce pump laser chips for communication scenarios.
This product is mainly used in signal amplification products in optical networks such as terrestrial and marine optical fiber communications covering backbone networks, core networks and metropolitan area networks, inter-satellite laser interconnection, and DCI of AI data centers. The product is scheduled to enter the mass production stage and be sold globally in the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, relying on its own IDM capabilities, Huachen Xinguang is also actively developing ultra-high-power InP CW laser chip products for CPO scenarios, contributing to completely solving the import dependency problem in the high-end optical chip sector.
