On July 27, the Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium was officially inaugurated.

On July 27, the unveiling ceremony and work promotion meeting of Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium was held at the headquarters of DeRUCCI Healthy Sleep Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "DeRUCCI"). This work promotion meeting was guided by the Dongguan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the People's Government of Houjie Town, and co-hosted by DeRUCCI and Guangdong Industrial Technology Research Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. About 300 representatives from relevant functional departments of Dongguan Municipality, top universities, Class A tertiary medical institutions, core enterprises in the industrial chain, investment institutions and mainstream media attended the meeting.

The appointment and awarding ceremony was held simultaneously at the promotion meeting, where Yin Zhouping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and vice president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was officially appointed as the chief scientist of the Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium, and Chen Wenze, CTO of DeRUCCI Group, was appointed as the chief administrative engineer.

Six-in-One Integration to Gather Momentum and Open a New Chapter, Build a Benchmark for the Integration of "Artificial Intelligence + Life Health"

At present, problems such as insomnia, dreaminess and poor sleep quality are widespread, and hidden chronic sleep diseases threaten public health. Traditional sleep management relies on subjective judgment and post-event remediation, while the in-depth integration of AI and the big health industry is pushing sleep management to shift from passive conditioning to active protection. Relying on multi-dimensional data monitoring and intelligent algorithms, sleep health agents can accurately identify sleep problems and warn of health risks, making professional sleep medical services sink into daily family scenarios. Yao Jiqing, Vice Chairman of DeRUCCI Group, said in his speech that DeRUCCI has been deeply engaged in the healthy sleep field for more than 20 years, and has completed the strategic closed loop from "foresighting AI" to "becoming AI + terminal application". Relying on the national CNAS laboratory, million-level ergonomic data model, ten-billion-level sleep behavior data, self-developed tidal algorithm and sleep vertical large model, the industrialization of non-inductive physiological monitoring and AI personalized sleep intervention and analysis has been realized.

The in-depth integration of AI, sensor science, human factors engineering and clinical medicine is restructuring the development mode of the sleep industry. With the witness of all guests, the Dongguan Digital Human and Smart Sleep Innovation Consortium was officially unveiled. The Innovation Consortium is led by DeRUCCI, with Guangdong Industrial Technology Research Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology as the secretariat, and joint participation of leading industrial chain enterprises including Sigo Intelligent, Keheng, Jingbofang and Huawei Cloud. Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beihang University, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Technology, as well as many medical institutions including Peking University Third Hospital, Dongguan People's Hospital and Dongguan Maternity and Child Health Hospital provide technical support.

The Party Secretary of Dongguan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau Zhong Jingping said: "From preparation to establishment, it is rare that the Consortium has always adhered to the 'medical orientation', starting from real medical needs and specific application scenarios, not doing simple technical application and stacking, but extracting medical scientific problems with universal significance from real clinical scenarios. Taking this as the starting point, it connects top medical resources including Peking University Third Hospital, Dongguan People's Hospital and Dongguan Maternity and Child Health Hospital for in-depth participation, and organizes universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises to carry out collaborative research."

Yao Jiqing explained the three core tasks of the Consortium to the conference: First, tackle the two theoretical mechanisms of sleep medicine and sleep human factors engineering, and break through key common technologies such as sleep human body modeling and non-inductive monitoring. Second, build a digital human AI + intelligent research ward and a multi-center full-process digital health clinical verification system to accelerate the implementation and promotion of innovative smart sleep products. Third, empower the transformation and upgrading of Dongguan's traditional home furnishing industry, cultivate new industry formats, create a new paradigm of national health, and help the implementation of the Healthy China 2030 Strategy.

At the appointment ceremony, Academician Yin Zhouping said: "As a new type of scientific research innovation institution, the Innovation Consortium fits the current non-linear two-way innovation paradigm, and uses the real scenario demands of enterprises to drive basic scientific research breakthroughs, which is an excellent practice of in-depth collaboration among industry, university, research, medicine and users to carry out organized innovation." Subsequently, Secretary Zhong Jingping and Secretary Xiao Hong jointly awarded licenses to a number of cooperative medical institutions including Peking University Third Hospital, Dongguan People's Hospital and Dongguan Maternity and Child Health Hospital, and officially established the "AI Intelligent Research Ward" of the Consortium, opening up the two-way channel between home sleep monitoring and hospital clinical diagnosis and treatment, and improving the clinical verification and medical-enterprise collaboration network.

Develop Sleep Health Agents, Build a Full-cycle Sleep Health Closed Loop

Chen Wenze made a special report on the overall construction progress of the Innovation Consortium to all participants. He said that the Consortium aims to promote the in-depth integrated development of Dongguan's traditional advantageous industries and future key industries, and create a new paradigm of national health.

At present, the integration of physical AI and life health industry still faces many industry pain points, including challenges such as difficulty in full-cycle dynamic observation of sleep status, lack of knowledge graph for specific sleep diseases, and absence of risk warning models for chronic sleep diseases. The Consortium plans seven core sub-projects, covering sleep medical theory, sleep human factors engineering, sleep monitoring, sleep analysis, sleep intervention, sleep large model, clinical evaluation and demonstration promotion system, forming a complete innovation closed loop of "clinical medical data input - multi-modal monitoring equipment collection - operation of multiple sleep models - implementation of intelligent bedding hardware - clinical verification optimization - output of home sleep ecological services".

Taking intelligent bedding as the carrier, the Consortium integrates and develops the AI large model in the vertical field of smart sleep, builds a clinical verification platform for digital human and healthy sleep, creates a "health agent" with AI decision-making ability, and promotes the transformation of health management mode from "passive medical treatment" to "active early warning". According to Chen Wenze, the self-developed sleep vertical large model of the Consortium has completed the construction of the basic knowledge base and local deployment model, and has been applied to DeRUCCI T12 series products, realizing sleep report generation, personalized improvement plan push and intelligent Q&A. Relying on the large model, the linkage adjustment of sleep micro-environment can be realized. Combined with real-time sleep monitoring and voice interaction instructions, it links DeRUCCI T12 mattress, electric bed, lights, air conditioners and other whole-house equipment to dynamically optimize the sleep environment. At the level of product R&D, the Consortium has innovatively launched an AI individualized sleep support system, which advances from single static intelligent adjustment to the superposition of three capabilities: AI human body recognition, physical structure customization and dynamic self-adaptation, to meet the differentiated support needs of users.
