The project of adding a new station to Beijing Subway Line 15 has been approved, and the start of construction is just around the corner.
In May last year, we previously shared the news that a new station would be added to Subway Line 15 in the New International Exhibition Area.
Information released by the Municipal Development and Reform Commission yesterday shows that the approval for the project initiation of the Subway Line 15 additional station renovation project serving the New International Exhibition Area has been granted. The new station is located between the Guozhan Station and Hualikan Station on Subway Line 15, adjacent to the East Entrance Hall of Phase II of the New International Exhibition Center.
Subway Line 15 has been in operation for nearly 15 years. It is a major transportation artery in northern Beijing, connecting districts such as Haidian, Chaoyang, and Shunyi, and serves as an important commuting tool for many residents.
The new station added to Line 15 this time is mainly to serve the international exhibition industry, more specifically the Capital International Exhibition Center, which is the previously mentioned Phase II of the New International Exhibition Center that was put into operation in February last year.
According to the construction process, a project can only start construction after obtaining the project initiation approval from the development and reform department. What the Municipal Development and Reform Commission approved this time is the project proposal of this project.
According to the content of the approval, the construction scope of this project includes the new station, pedestrian overpass corridors and supporting facilities.
The newly added station is located between Guozhan Station and Hualikan Station on Line 15, adjacent to the East Entrance Hall of Phase II of the New International Exhibition Center, and is a two-story elevated side platform station. It is understood that the first floor of the station is the concourse level, and the second floor is the platform level.
Meanwhile, 2 new pedestrian overpass corridors and supporting facilities will be constructed. One is the corridor connecting the new station and the Phase II exhibition hall, and the other is the corridor connecting the existing Guozhan Station and the Phase I exhibition hall.
The progress of the New International Exhibition Area additional station project on Line 15 is very rapid. The news was first disclosed only in May last year, and the bidding announcements for civil construction and supervision were issued in July.
At present, the scheme design, preliminary design and construction drawing design of this project have been confirmed to be undertaken by Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group Co., Limited.
The estimated investment of this project is about 320 million yuan, with a building area of about 9,000 square meters (including about 3,870 square meters of corridors). The planned construction period is 638 days, which is less than two years.
