"Yuequan Bionics" Secures Hundreds of Millions Yuan in Financing, Achieves Mass Production of 10,000 Bionic Tension-Compression Body Dexterous Hands with Orders Exceeding 100 Million | 36Kr Exclusive

36Kr has exclusively learned that Yuequan Bionics has recently completed a Pre-A+ round of financing worth hundreds of millions of yuan. This round of financing was jointly invested by Changfa Fund, Huakong Fund, China Asset Management, Guoli Minsheng, Xingke Venture Capital, etc., with existing shareholder ZGC Qihang Investment participating as a follow-on investor.
According to the introduction, the funds raised in this round will be used for Yuequan Bionics' team building, core product technology R&D and production capacity improvement, as well as strengthening full-stack self-developed capabilities, building a complete technical system, promoting the R&D of super-bionic neuro-musculoskeletal robots, and creating a "brain-body-environment" integrated bionic embodied intelligence system.
Currently, the humanoid robot track has gone through the initial prototype demonstration stage and is gradually entering a critical inflection point for commercial implementation. As the core component for robots to interact with the real world, dexterous hands have become a core direction that capital is heavily betting on. In the first quarter of this year alone, the total financing of domestic dexterous hand enterprises was nearly 5 billion yuan.
Behind the hustle and bustle, to a certain extent, dexterous hand products are also falling into an "involution" state of competing for hardware parameters such as degrees of freedom and torque. Traditional rigid structures can hardly take into account lightweight, grasping force and operation accuracy at the same time, and they are inherently "clumsy" when facing soft and fragile objects. But usually, to achieve fine operation, the load capacity has to be sacrificed, and improving durability will greatly increase the cost. Therefore, it has always been trapped in the contradiction that performance, cost and reliability cannot be balanced.
If we want to truly break the existing bottleneck, we need to redesign the underlying mechanical structure. Therefore, enterprises that have original bionic underlying technology and realize full-chain self-development of software and hardware may become the core force of industrial development in the next stage.
Yuequan Bionics is one of the representative enterprises among them. Yuequan Bionics has completed the transformation of scientific research achievements based on the "Bionic Tension-Compression Body Robot Theory and Technology" proposed by Professor Ren Lei, Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education and tenured professor at the University of Manchester, UK. In layman's terms, this set of bionic tension-compression body technology completely imitates the logic of the coordinated work of human bones, muscles and ligaments. The rigid components mainly bear pressure, and the flexible components mainly bear tension. Based on this theoretical-level innovation, the movement logic of traditional robots is fundamentally changed.
Relying on this original underlying technology, Yuequan Bionics has built a full-stack self-developed product matrix covering self-developed coreless motors, artificial muscle modules, bionic dexterous hands, complete humanoid robots, and world-behavior large models. At this stage, the company has launched four core product lines and made their debut at the recent 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance (WAIC):
The first is the "YingShou Y-Hand" series of bionic tension-compression dexterous hands that focus on lightweight bionic operation. This is Yuequan Bionics' flagship bionic dexterous hand product line, focusing on compliant bionic dexterous operations close to real human hands, helping to alleviate the problem of traditional robot hands being "stiff when powerful and weak when lightweight".
This series is divided into two models: the M1 lightweight model and the M2 ultra-high degree of freedom flagship model. Among them, the Y-Hand M1 was just released in early July this year. The palm of this product weighs only 299.7g, which is less than a can of cola, but the entire hand integrates 26 degrees of freedom, and the five-finger grasping force can reach 200N. At the WAIC booth interactive area, the Y-Hand M1 demonstrated the functions of picking up and putting down items such as mineral water bottles and wrenches; for soft items such as toy dolls, the Y-Hand M1 can also complete operations through fingertip light touch, flexible grasping, and non-damaging clamping without deforming the items.

Currently, although some dexterous hand products in the industry are constantly stacking up the total degrees of freedom, they often only allocate 3-4 joints to the thumb, resulting in limited fine operation capabilities. In contrast, the Y-Hand M1 chooses to configure 8 degrees of freedom for the thumb, matching the physiological characteristics of the human body, reflecting that a single human thumb can "support nearly half of the hand's operating capabilities", and can complete most human-like dexterous manipulations such as centripetal pinching, palmar opposition, and enveloping grasping.
Another model, the YingShou Y-Hand M2, has 38 degrees of freedom. According to data provided by Yuequan Bionics, the Y-Hand M2 is currently "the bionic dexterous hand with the highest degree of freedom in the world", and its performance in dimensions such as speed, strength, flexibility, and compliance is "close to the level of human hands".

Differentiated from the highly bionic "YingShou Y-Hand" series, the "XinShou X-Hand M1" is a rigid dexterous hand for standardized industrial scenarios, focusing on high-intensity assembly line operations in factories, with a maximum load of 50kg and a cycle service life of up to one million times.

The third type of product line, the "YQ Motors series motors", is the "exclusive power heart" of all the company's dexterous hands, covering 7 full-size series from 4 to 22mm, and all core driving components are domestically self-developed.

Finally, there is the wheeled humanoid robot representative "Bowen W-Bot 2.0", which is equipped with a small chassis of 0.238 ㎡. This design allows it to enter workstations that traditional large robots cannot access. The humanoid hip-knee-ankle triple folding structure endows "Bowen W-Bot 2.0" with the ability to squat down and stand up, making its working space cover 0-2.2m above the ground. Equipped with a complete set of self-developed bionic hands and motors, it can realize an integrated unmanned solution from movement, grasping to operation, which is suitable for scenarios such as factory automated assembly, warehouse logistics sorting, computer room equipment inspection, and intelligent exhibition hall reception.

From the application perspective, the dexterous hand industry has gradually moved from the laboratory stage to the stage of large-scale mass production. From the perspective of shipment volume, the GGII (Gaogong Industry Research Institute) predicts that the annual sales of dexterous hand products in China are expected to exceed 70,000 units in 2026.
In this regard, Yuequan Bionics has also made advance layout of production lines. Zhao Di, CTO of Yuequan Bionics, once publicly introduced that the company has been planning the mass production path synchronously from the very beginning of design, and "the core components have the ability to directly switch to mass production". At present, the company's production base located in Changping, Beijing is under construction.
In terms of commercialization, Yuequan Bionics has exported full-stack solutions for multiple scenarios such as intelligent manufacturing, warehouse logistics, inspection and maintenance, medical health, and domestic services, with accumulated orders exceeding 100 million yuan.
