Six categories of talents in Chengdu can enjoy rental subsidies, with the highest subsidy ratio reaching 100%.
On February 28, four departments including the Chengdu Housing and Urban - Rural Development Bureau jointly issued the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of Chengdu's Talent Preferential Rental Action". For six categories of municipal - level talents who meet the conditions, corresponding talent subsidies will be provided. The subsidy ratio ranges from 50% to 100%, and the maximum subsidy area is 50 square meters.
The "Detailed Rules" will be implemented from April 1, 2026, with a validity period of 5 years.
In terms of the scope of talent benefits, firstly, they are municipal - level talents of categories A, B, C, D, and E who rent affordable rental housing (excluding residents' self - owned housing included in the management of affordable rental housing) in the administrative area of Chengdu.
In addition, there are also municipal - level category F talents whose talent recognition location is in the county - level new cities (Jianyang City, Dujiangyan City, Pengzhou City, Qionglai City, Chongzhou City, Jintang County, Dayi County, Pujiang County) and who rent affordable rental housing (excluding residents' self - owned housing included in the management of affordable rental housing) in the recognition location.
Regarding the specific subsidy standards, according to the requirements of the "Detailed Rules", the subsidy ratios for talents of categories A, B, C, D, and E are 100%, 100%, 70%, 50%, and 50% respectively, and the upper limit of the subsidy area is 50 square meters. For Chengdu municipal - level category F talents whose talent recognition location is in the county - level new cities and rent in the recognition location, the subsidy ratio is 50%.
It is worth noting that the upper limit of the rent subsidy area for all talents is 50 square meters. If the actual rented building area does not exceed 50 square meters, the subsidy will be calculated based on the actual area; if it exceeds 50 square meters, the subsidy will be calculated based on 50 square meters. The cumulative duration of rent subsidy issuance shall not exceed 36 months.
It is understood that currently, Chengdu has raised 226,000 units (rooms) of affordable rental housing, and about 78,000 units (rooms) have been put into operation. According to relevant requirements, as long as a person is over 18 years old, has no personal property - owned housing in the rental area, and is not currently enjoying other housing security, they can apply to rent affordable rental housing in Chengdu.
