Multiple NetEase Games on OPPO's Channel Servers to Cease Operations
Recently, many netizens have posted online, reporting that multiple NetEase games on OPPO's channel servers have ceased operations, which has significantly affected users who often play NetEase games on this channel. On November 4th, an OPPO customer service representative told reporters, "It's true that some games have ceased operations because the cooperation with NetEase has ended. The (shutdown) times for each game vary, and there is currently no news about resuming operations."
Industry insiders analyzed that this might be related to the "high - revenue - sharing" model of traditional Android channels in the gaming industry. For a long time, domestic mobile game distribution has relied on mobile phone manufacturers' app stores, such as those of OPPO, Huawei, and Xiaomi. The revenue - sharing ratio can be as high as 50%, which limits the profit margins of game developers. As game companies like NetEase have grown and expanded, increasing their investment in R & D, they have more leverage in negotiating with channels. They are trying to reduce their reliance on traditional Android channels and improve their own profit margins. (Jiemian News)
