Fat Donglai's new store is recruiting 1,000 people, and two special groups have directly secured about 220 spots.

On the morning of August 8th, Yu Donglai, the founder of Fat Donglai, posted a message on his personal social platform, stating that the recruitment phase for the "San Pang" store of Xinxiang Fat Donglai has begun, with an estimated quota of around 1,000 people.

Regarding this recruitment plan, Yu Donglai mentioned two special arrangements. First, 20% of the quotas (200 people) will be allocated to retired border guards from the arduous regions of Xinjiang and Tibet who have made great contributions to the country. Yu Donglai said, "These retired border guards have long stayed in the arduous plateau regions, sacrificing their youth and sweat for the country's security and stability. They deserve this opportunity to start a new career chapter."

In addition, 2% of the quotas (20 people) will be reserved for former inmates with a criminal record. Yu Donglai said, "People who have made mistakes in the past should also have a chance to start over. We hope to provide job opportunities to show respect and care for these people who have taken a wrong turn, enabling them to create value through their own labor, reintegrate into society, and embrace a better life."

According to an insider at Fat Donglai, the recruitment has not officially started yet. If there is an official recruitment later, relevant information will be posted on the official WeChat account of Fat Donglai.

It is understood that the "San Pang" store for this recruitment is the third store of Fat Donglai in Xinxiang. This store is jointly developed by Fat Donglai and Yitong Real Estate. The project covers an area of 68,000 square meters and is expected to open in October this year, with an annual sales volume of up to 2 billion yuan. The two existing stores of Fat Donglai in Xinxiang have 4,000 staff members.

With ordinary employees earning a monthly salary of up to 9,000 yuan, competition for jobs at Fat Donglai has been fierce in recent years. Last year, the recruitment ratio for jewelry salespersons at the Xuchang Fat Donglai store was as high as 230:1. Not long ago, Yu Donglai claimed that the recruitment ratio for the upcoming Zhengzhou store of Fat Donglai next year will be "at least 100:1". Fat Donglai has an extremely low staff turnover rate. According to the information on the official website of Fat Donglai, in the first seven months of this year, the staff turnover rate was 0.94%, and it dropped to as low as 0.14% in July.

While conducting large-scale recruitment, Fat Donglai's business performance is becoming even stronger. According to the data on its official website, as of August 7th, the cumulative sales volume of Fat Donglai in 2025 reached 13.794 billion yuan. In just eight months, it has achieved 80% of last year's sales volume. Judging from this trend, it is certain to exceed 20 billion yuan this year.

Fat Donglai currently has 13 stores open in Xuchang and Xinxiang. While actively opening new stores in Xinxiang and Zhengzhou, it is also closing some stores in Xuchang. On June 23rd, Yu Donglai said in a live broadcast that Fat Donglai will close several stores, including the Life Plaza store, Renmin Road store, and Wuyi Road store. The reason is not poor performance. On the contrary, their performance is quite good, and the Life Plaza store ranks fifth among all stores in terms of performance. Yu Donglai explained that the real reason for closing these stores is that "the quality of these old and small stores can no longer keep up, so we have chosen to gradually close them."
