The Singapore leg of the 2025 International SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is here!

It is reported that to further enhance the innovation ability and specialization level of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), build a collaborative innovation ecosystem, actively build a bridge for international industrial and technological exchanges, and promote the "going out" and "bringing in" of SMEs' innovation achievements, the China Association for International Cooperation of SMEs will host the Singapore leg of the 2025 International SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

The competition is hosted by the China Association for International Cooperation of SMEs and organized by the Specialized and Sophisticated New Enterprise Cultivation Base (Hangzhou). It is supported by cooperative units such as One Horizon Consulting PTE LTD, Zhejiang Keyu Technology Service Co., Ltd., 36Kr, Shunwei Capital, ATLATL SCIENTIFIC PTE. The competition starts from industrial needs, connects global innovation resources, and builds a collaborative innovation ecosystem. Guided by project implementation and docking, it builds a platform for international industrial and technological docking. The aim is to help SMEs promote industrial transformation and upgrading, expand the international market, and assist local areas in attracting talents and investment.

Competition Eligibility

1. Enterprise Group: Participating enterprises must be legally registered and non - listed. The main person in charge of the project should be a Singaporean citizen, a student or graduate of a Singaporean university. The enterprise should own independent intellectual property rights without any property - right disputes, and the intellectual property rights of the participating project should belong to the registering enterprise. The enterprise should operate in a standardized manner, have a good social reputation, and no bad records. It should have innovative products, technologies, or business models, high growth potential, and be willing to implement projects in the Chinese market or cooperate with Chinese enterprises in terms of technology, talent, etc.

2. Maker Group: The core members of the participating teams should be Singaporean citizens or students, professors, or graduates from Singaporean universities or research institutions. The ideas, products, technologies, and relevant intellectual property rights of the participating projects should belong to the core members of the team, without any intellectual property disputes with other units or individuals. The team should have innovative products, technologies, or business models, high growth potential, and be willing to implement projects in the Chinese market or cooperate with Chinese enterprises in terms of technology, talent, etc.

Competition Arrangement

The entire competition is divided into three stages: project registration and collection, online preliminary round, and final round and award - giving ceremony.

June 2025 - August 2025: Project registration and collection

September 2025: Online preliminary selection: Expert judges will conduct an online review of project materials to select projects for the final roadshow.

Early October 2025: Final roadshow and award - giving ceremony of the Singapore leg

Targeted Industrial Areas

Relevant cooperative institutions for the competition, such as research institutes, technology transfer centers, think - tanks, incubators, and business associations, can directly contact the competition organizers to consult about registration matters.

The competition does not charge any fees from participants. The same project or similar projects of the same enterprise or team cannot be registered repeatedly for other regional competitions, special competitions, or overseas regional competitions of the "Maker China" competition. Projects that have ranked among the top 500 in the national competition in the past three years are not eligible to participate. Enterprises or individuals on the list of dishonest entities are not allowed to participate. Participants who plagiarize others' innovation achievements or use other improper means to obtain awards will be disqualified from the competition once discovered.

Awards and Follow - up Services

1. Awards

The final of the Singapore leg will select one champion, one runner - up, and one second - runner - up, who will be directly recommended to the final of the "Maker China" International Competition. The other top - ten projects can participate in relevant docking activities of the final preferentially.

2. Service Support

Promotion. The participating projects and docking achievements will be exhibited, reported, and promoted through the official cooperative media of the competition (including but not limited to TV stations, newspapers, professional industry magazines, well - known portals, etc.).

Financing Docking. Relevant funds and venture capital institutions will be united to organize financing docking activities. Eligible participating enterprises will be provided with full - process credit financing support and preferential interest rates.

Entrepreneurial Support. Enterprises will be helped to obtain entrepreneurial support policies and incubation services, and projects will be supported to be implemented in industrial parks. Overseas enterprises (teams) that win awards in the competition and implement projects back in the Chinese mainland will be provided with landing and docking services.

Technology Transfer. The technology transfer platforms of universities and research institutions will be connected to provide technical services such as inspection and testing, technology transfer, and solutions, so as to accelerate the "two - way integration" of the innovation chain and the industrial chain.

Market Expansion. Excellent projects will be organized to participate in national and international exhibition activities, and in - depth exchanges and cooperation docking will be carried out with specialized and sophisticated new enterprises in the industry to help project development and resource integration.
