Going Global Initiative | Empowering Tech Innovation Enterprises to Expand into Global Markets, Hong Kong Productivity Council Establishes Going Global Service Center
Amid the rising tide of Chinese companies going global, Hong Kong, long serving as a window for both "bringing in" and "going out," boasts the unique advantages of "one country, two systems" and its position as a bridge between the Chinese mainland and the world. It is an ideal platform for enterprises to prepare for entering overseas markets and pilot their overseas products and business models.
In this year's Government Work Report delivered at the Two Sessions, it was explicitly stated for the first time that Hong Kong should "deepen international exchanges and cooperation." Against this backdrop, on April 11, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (hereinafter referred to as the "Council") officially established "The Cradle Overseas Expansion Service Center" (hereinafter referred to as the "Service Center").
It is reported that the Service Center is committed to leveraging the Council's rich experience in international standard testing, application R & D, scenario implementation, and intelligent manufacturing, and giving full play to Hong Kong's advantages in intellectual property, supply chain management, trade financing, and ESG to assist enterprises in upgrading in intelligent manufacturing, green transformation, and digitalization.
Established in 1967, the Hong Kong Productivity Council is dedicated to driving Hong Kong enterprises to enhance productivity through world - class advanced technologies and innovative services. Combining its technical expertise with its international network, the Council can support enterprises to connect with international - standard markets. By collaborating with ecosystem partners to explore new overseas opportunities for enterprises, it creates a comprehensive support network for overseas expansion, thereby enhancing the global competitiveness of enterprises.
"Over the past decade, the Council has completed over 1,400 intelligent projects in the Greater Bay Area and promoted the '9 + 3+1 Development Plan' to set up service bases and R & D centers to support small and medium - sized enterprises to go global with high quality. With the rapid rise of the 'Global South' economies, we hope to collaborate with all sectors through the 'Overseas Expansion Service Center' to create and expand the ecosystem for Hong Kong and mainland enterprises to go global," said The Honourable Chan Cho Hang, Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

In addition to helping enterprises expand into global markets, the Service Center also contributes to consolidating Hong Kong's status as an international innovation and technology hub.
Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, said that as an international financial and trading hub, Hong Kong is accelerating the construction of an international innovation and technology center and has the unique advantage of being well - connected both internally and externally, making it an ideal platform for enterprises to go global. In Sun Dong's view, the Service Center helps promote the complementary and inter - connected flow of innovation and technology resources, accelerate the integrated development of technology and industrial innovation, and assist enterprises to expand from Hong Kong to the international market, further strengthening Hong Kong's status as an international innovation and technology center.

Professor Liu Qing, Director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center, mentioned that in the future, they will continue to deepen cooperation with the Council, give full play to Hong Kong's regional advantages, and use the Service Center to help Yangtze River Delta enterprises break through the bottlenecks of going global. They will further leverage the industrial and innovation advantages of the Yangtze River Delta and jointly create a new paradigm of "cultivation in the Yangtze River Delta + services in Hong Kong + global markets" for overseas expansion, promoting more enterprises to "go global" with high quality.
Mr. Wang Debao, Deputy Director of the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area National Technology Innovation Center, also said: "The Greater Bay Area National Technology Innovation Center will actively deepen cooperation with major innovation hubs, assist mainland enterprises in breaking through the technological barriers and challenges in the international market, and accelerate the high - quality development and global application of new productive forces."
Located in the Productivity Building, the Service Center provides one - stop professional support for Hong Kong and mainland technology companies, covering core areas such as international technical standard alignment, product localization and international technical support, intellectual property management and protection, and overseas regulations, helping more Hong Kong and mainland enterprises successfully expand overseas.
