In the travel of people in the first and second-tier cities in China, two-wheel electric vehicles are a high-frequency and rigid-demand means of transportation.

On January 13, the second version of the new national standard for electric vehicles, the mandatory national standard "Safety Technical Specifications for Electric Bicycles" (GB 17761—2024), was officially released and will be implemented from September 1, 2025. In fact, after the implementation of the first version of the new national standard, two-wheel electric vehicles have ushered in a wave of replacement purchases in recent years.

According to data from iResearch and others, the sales of two-wheel electric vehicles in China exceeded 50 million in 2023. Among them, the purchase volume of female users accounted for 42%, an increase of 8% compared to five years ago. In some cities, this proportion is even higher, with the proportion of female users exceeding half. Sensing this market trend keenly, many brands have turned their attention to the female market.

On February 22, Yadea launched a new female series "Yadea Modern" and released three new models - Guangmang, Zhuiguang, and Laiyin, with starting retail prices of 4,299 yuan, 3,499 yuan, and 2,999 yuan respectively.

The core concept of this Yadea Modern series is "High appearance, 10-fold safety protection". In terms of appearance, the Yadea Modern series has designed a variety of retro and light luxury color schemes, using a silver-plated electroplating grille, combined with a highly transparent and non-discoloring sky deflector, and the hub cover design is more in line with the styling preferences of female users; at the same time, it also launched a variety of customized models such as the Modern Guangmang × Wang Hedi support color version and the Sanrio co-branded version to meet the personalized needs of users with trendy elements.

"10-fold safety protection" means that it adopts 10 safety protection functions to improve riding safety and stability, specifically including a structure, a body-man-machine structure specially designed for women, two protections, battery safety protection and intelligent safety protection, three protections including anti-rollback, anti-skid, and anti-runaway, as well as four stabilities of stable riding, stable braking, stable pushing, and stable parking.

With the expansion of the proportion of the young group under the age of 35, an obvious change in car purchases is that users also show a stronger preference for the intelligent functions of two-wheel electric vehicles. Through the Internet of Things, big data, and cloud computing technologies, two-wheel electric vehicles can achieve remote monitoring, intelligent management, and data analysis, thereby improving user experience and safety.

At the algorithm level, Yadea Modern is equipped with Ark Safety Control Technology and iRide Intelligent Technology, and safety is the core focus of its technology. Ark Safety Control Technology is equipped with the upgraded TCS2.0 automatic control system. Through the coordination of intelligent hardware and software control, it can effectively ensure the stability and safety of users' riding in multiple scenarios while reducing the sense of frustration.

For example, on a bumpy downhill section or a snowy and slippery road surface, the wheels are prone to slipping, which in turn leads to the vehicle losing control. The TCS2.0 automatic control system can automatically detect the wheel safety during the user's riding process. Once slipping is detected, the system will quickly intervene and reduce the rotational speed of the wheels by intelligently adjusting the output torque of the motor, so that the wheels regain traction and ensure the stable driving of the vehicle.

The intelligence of iRide Intelligent Technology is mainly reflected in its human-vehicle interaction, improving the convenience of using the vehicle. iRide Intelligent Technology is equipped with functions such as induction unlocking and locking, intelligent anti-theft, and cloud OTA remote upgrade. With just one mobile phone, users can free their hands and avoid the safety risks of not twisting, not pulling out, and losing the mechanical key during use, greatly improving the convenience and safety of users' travel.

In addition, for users who are concerned about the safety performance of the battery, Yadea has launched the Modern Guangmang Sodium Battery Version, which is equipped with Yadea Huayu's self-developed extremely sodium battery. It can increase the capacity retention rate by more than 30% in a low-temperature environment, effectively solving the problems of fast power attenuation and significantly shortened cruising range of traditional batteries in low temperatures. At the same time, by optimizing the internal structure and material formula of the battery, the risk of thermal runaway of the battery can be reduced. Even in extreme situations such as being subjected to external impacts or overcharging and over-discharging, it can also avoid dangerous situations such as vehicle fires and explosions, ensuring the travel safety of users.
