36Kr has learned that Logan Laser Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Logan Laser"), a solid-state laser manufacturer, recently announced the completion of a tens of millions of yuan Series B financing round. The investor is Xingfu Capital, with Qichen Capital serving as the exclusive financial advisor. This round of financing will mainly be used for the construction of new production lines and the research and development of new projects.
"Logan Laser" was established in 2017 and is headquartered in Jiangxia District, Wuhan. The company focuses on the research and development, production, and sales of advanced solid-state lasers. Its products include nanosecond solid-state lasers, picosecond ultrafast lasers, and water-guided laser systems, which are widely used in aerospace, the third-generation semiconductor, super-hard materials, and new energy and other fields.
Core Products
In recent years, with the rapid development of high-end manufacturing industries such as aerospace, semiconductors, and new energy, the demand for high-precision and high-energy lasers is increasing. However, the high-end laser market has long been monopolized by foreign enterprises, and domestic enterprises are facing technical blockades and high equipment costs. "Logan Laser" has successfully broken through a number of core technologies through independent research and development, achieving the domestic substitution of high-end lasers.
In terms of technology, "Logan Laser" has developed a high-power and high-energy laser and a high-energy fundamental mode laser suitable for laser micro-jet technology (water-guided laser), which is an innovative technology for coupling high-energy lasers into a water column. By focusing the laser energy in a water column with a micron-diameter, the water-guided laser technology achieves high-precision and high-energy processing capabilities, while having the advantages of both fiber lasers and solid-state lasers.
"We are the only enterprise in this field in China that can provide commercial delivery of lasers. The project was initiated for research and development in 2019, went on the market for sales in 2022, and has been continuously iterated, achieving 100% domestic production of all accessories," introduced Hua Ming, the CEO of "Logan Laser". "Logan Laser" has cooperated with more than 30 domestic and foreign enterprises, scientific research institutions, and application units on nearly 100 high-end projects and achieved batch delivery to the terminals. Up to now, the annual sales of this type of laser have exceeded 30 million yuan.
Based on different scenarios and parameters, "Logan Laser" has launched more than 50 models in more than 20 series of all-solid-state ultraviolet lasers and ultrafast lasers. The core products are the HPE series of high-power and high-energy green lasers and the DSP series of high-energy fundamental mode lasers. The single-pulse energy of the HPE series products is 10 - 100mJ, and the peak power exceeds 50,000 watts. This series of products has achieved batch commercial delivery and is widely used in the precision processing of aerospace high-temperature alloy, composite materials, the third-generation semiconductor materials, and super-hard materials (such as diamond, ceramics, and other materials).
Typical Applications
The customers of "Logan Laser" include both equipment integrators and end-users. Currently, it has reached cooperation with enterprises in the fields of AVIC, AECC, China Aerospace, semiconductors, and cultivated diamonds. "Logan Laser" predicts a production value target of nearly 100 million yuan this year. The future research and development direction of the company includes improving the performance of lasers in the main business field, exploring all-solid-state femtosecond lasers and continuous high-power solid-state lasers, etc.
In terms of the team, "Logan Laser" currently has more than 60 employees, of which the R & D personnel account for more than 70%. The core team is composed of senior experts in the laser industry, with rich R & D and market experience. CEO Hua Ming has previously served as a senior executive of well-known state-owned and foreign-funded laser enterprises. With more than 15 years of market and management experience in the laser industry, he has led many major market strategies and product promotions. Deng Jiaxing, the R & D director, has more than 10 years of experience in the field of laser technology research and development, focusing on high-energy lasers and ultrafast laser technology. "Logan Laser" also maintains close cooperation with scientific research institutions such as the Institute of Materials, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Xidian University.
Investor's Perspective:
The investor of Xingfu Capital said: "Xingfu Capital is committed to investing in the forefront technology field of intelligent manufacturing. As a high-performance processing method, lasers have multiple performance dimensions, and the performance upper limit of each dimension is constantly improving. Industrialization follows, and various application implementations are constantly emerging. In the future, it is expected to serve as the core standardized value concentration link of core laser equipment in various high-end manufacturing scenarios, playing the role of an upstream and downstream hub in the industry to lead technological iterative progress. As a leader in the solid-state laser competition track, Logan Laser has a deep accumulation in the high-energy and high-pulse energy fields, and is at the forefront of the industry in the water-guided laser and other high-pulse energy application fields where there are domestic blank spaces. It is an important part of Xingfu Capital's manufacturing industry layout led by the investment concept of hidden champions."
