In 2024, the intelligence of hardware terminals has become an important trend in technological innovation. Global technology companies have launched new consumer electronics products with AI functions, attempting to seize a favorable ecological niche in the competition.
On December 26, Lenovo held the Tianxi Ecosystem Partner Conference in Beijing, announcing the new upgrade of the next-generation intelligent system, the Tianxi Personal Intelligent System (Tianxi AS).
Tianxi AS is independently developed by Lenovo and is the "one body" part of Lenovo's "one body with multiple terminals" strategy. Tianxi AS not only includes the personal intelligent entity "Xiao Tian", but also includes the intelligent entity operating platform, which is composed of personal knowledge base, intelligent entity framework and intelligent entity network, cross-device interconnection (Smart connect), model service and scheduling, inference acceleration engine, and data security and privacy protection modules.
"Tianxi AS is a personal intelligent system that runs on top of the traditional OS. It is deeply integrated and closely integrated with the OS, and has the ability to operate across terminals and different operating systems." Zhang Hua, Senior Vice President of Lenovo Group and General Manager of China Consumer Business Group, said.
Tianxi AS can achieve a mixed deployment of the end side and personal cloud, providing personalized services for users and creating an exclusive personal assistant.
Currently, most large models are deployed in the cloud or are only an upgrade of the intelligent experience based on the PC operating system, while AIPC can call the local + cloud mixed large model and personalized knowledge base, relying on the exclusive model embedded in the device locally and the private domain space in the cloud to achieve personalized services.
At the same time, Tianxi AS also has the ability of full-time and space memory, can plan and decompose tasks, and even has the ability to take actions such as calling tools, and can link multiple intelligent entities in the ecosystem to jointly solve problems.
In order to complete the relatively complex tasks of users, intelligent terminal devices often require different AI applications and calling capabilities. In terms of the model ecosystem, Lenovo has established extensive cooperation with other cooperative ecological partners.
At the Tianxi Ecosystem Partner Conference, the Innovation Professional Committee of AI Terminal Intelligent Entities of the China Software Industry Association was also established, and Lenovo is the director unit of this committee.
Currently, Lenovo is enabling more terminal intelligent devices with "Tianxi AS" and upgrading them to AI mobile phones, AI tablets, and diverse AIoT devices. This is the "multiple terminals" in the "one body with multiple terminals" strategy.
It is reported that Tianxi AS will be gradually implemented on Lenovo's PCs, mobile phones, tablets, and IoT terminals in the China region starting from the second quarter of 2025.
Zhang Hua said that in 2024, Lenovo is fully promoting the continuous deepening and implementation of the "one body with multiple terminals" strategy. Up to now, Lenovo has 80 million active terminal quantities and 250 million monthly active users. Driven by Tianxi AS, Lenovo has set the next stage goal of breaking through 100 million active terminal quantities and 300 million monthly active users of the software matrix.
