Another veteran application has achieved a functional upgrade with the help of the AI large model.

On November 21, Tencent Sogou Input Method announced a new upgrade. With the support of Tencent Hunyuan Large Model technology, Sogou Input Method launched and upgraded functions such as AI Search and AI Quick Check, achieving "input as search".

In scenarios such as learning, office work, and social interaction, users can use Sogou Input Method to search while chatting and writing. It intelligently provides reference information and quickly obtains relevant answers. And the service is completely free.

In the latest version of Tencent Sogou Input Method, the input box is also the search box. The AI search function simultaneously launched on the PC and mobile terminals of Sogou Input Method allows users to quickly obtain relevant answers when entering information or asking questions, and provides convenience for users to create copy, browse web pages, read articles, seek popular science knowledge, and expand their knowledge.

In daily life scenarios such as social interaction, users need to frequently query information such as the weather. For such small needs, the AI Quick Check function of Sogou Input Method will provide convenience for users. Enter the information to be queried in the chat box and click the relevant association words, and the answer can be directly presented.

Currently, AI Quick Check has covered more than 40 life scenarios. Daily life needs such as mortgage calculation, calculation of the number of years of delayed retirement, holidays, city information, translation, ancient poetry, etc., can all achieve "search while chatting".

"Sogou Input Method currently has more than 600 million daily active users, with an average usage time of more than half an hour, covering almost all terminal platforms. Through product iteration and advancement, Sogou Input Method wants to allow more users to experience the capabilities of the large model." Chai Baoquan, the product manager of the Sogou Input Method Large Model, told 36Kr.

At the press conference, Zhang Feng, the application manager of Tencent Hunyuan Model, shared the application progress in terms of technology.

Zhang Feng said that the research and development ideas of the Hunyuan model mainly have two directions. One is to expand the language model to multi-modal in breadth, including multi-modal understanding and multi-modal generation, to expand the interaction with the physical world. The other is to further improve the intelligent upper limit of the model in depth, complete more difficult tasks, and finally achieve true AGI.

"Currently, the Hunyuan Large Model has been connected to more than 700 applications. We divide these applications into two categories, one is business efficiency improvement, and the other is product innovation. The launch of AI Search by Sogou Input Method under the support of Hunyuan is a product innovation, making it faster and more efficient for users to use." Zhang Feng said.

At the same time, Zhang Feng "previewed" the new products and new functions that Tencent Hunyuan Model is about to launch in the sharing.

First, the new model. The next-generation Hunyuan model to be launched by Tencent will have a smaller parameter quantity, only about half of the current one. Under the premise that the effect is aligned with Hunyuan Turbo, the model generation speed will be doubled.  

Second, new open source. Tencent Hunyuan will have other models of more sizes to continue to be open sourced, which are being prepared and will be launched one after another, and the hope is to continue to be open sourced.  

Third, new functions, including an AI assistant for voice calls and AI-generated PPT presentation documents. Zhang Feng said that the difficulty of the AI-generated PPT function lies in the degree of completion of the effect. The AI-generated PPT function to be launched by Tencent Hunyuan has a high degree of completion. Users only need to make small modifications to obtain good results.
