"Yuequan Bionic" Secures Nearly 100 Million Yuan in Pre-A Round Financing, and Its Bionic Humanoid Robot Products Receive Orders Worth Tens of Millions of Yuan | Exclusive from 36Kr
36Kr has learned that the humanoid robot enterprise "Yuequan Bionic" has recently completed a nearly 100 million yuan Pre-A round of financing. This round of financing is led by Hongtai Fund, with Changxing Fund and Zhongguancun Qihang Fund participating. The raised funds will be mainly used for the R & D investment in humanoid robots, the continuous construction of the company's talent and technical barriers, and the accelerated commercialization and delivery. Langchao Capital serves as the exclusive financial advisor for this financing.
Yuequan Bionic focuses on the R & D and industrialization of humanoid robot bodies, core components, and bionic intelligent equipment. 36Kr has previously reported on it multiple times. Based on the bionic tension-compression robot principle and technical system independently developed by the co-founder Professor Ren Lei, the company has achieved the independent research and development of the entire robot structure, core structural components, power system, etc., and proposed new material weaving production methods such as bionic ligaments with flexibility and high strength and durability.
Currently, the company has more than 300 international and domestic patents authorized in the field of bionic robots, and has completed the bionic tension-compression dexterous hand and bionic tension-compression robotic arm products. In addition, the prototype of the bionic lower limb walking robot has been completed and demonstrated in the laboratory. It is expected that in 2025, the company will develop and assemble a new generation of highly bionic humanoid robot based on the bionic tension-compression technical system.
From the perspective of different product categories:
- The bionic tension-compression dexterous hand product has 34 degrees of freedom and can complete almost 98% of human hand movements, such as various daily operations such as using chopsticks, unscrewing bottle caps, threading needles, and turning pages. At the same time, it has sub-millimeter-level precision and kilogram-level load capacity. In contrast, the existing commercial rigid dexterous hands on the market generally have 6 active degrees of freedom in joints, and the actions they can complete are mainly simple grasping and holding actions;
- The bionic tension-compression robotic arm product is based on the bionic tension-compression joint structure design and has 12 degrees of freedom. It uses an independently developed integrated artificial muscle actuator to achieve a load capacity of up to 50% of its own weight. Its structure is compact and has a wide range of motion, which is suitable for fine operations in a narrow space, while ensuring the safety of human-machine contact;
- The bionic tension-compression lower limb walking robot product combines the bionic tension-compression ankle system and knee joint design, and has anti-impact, low energy consumption, stability, and humanoid three-dimensional dynamic walking ability. Its motion energy consumption index CoT is only 1-2 times that of the human body, which is lower than that of the traditional joint-type humanoid robot.
It is understood that thanks to the progress made in product R & D, although Yuequan Bionic has only been officially in operation for about one year, its commercialization process is very fast. Since 2024, the company has obtained tens of millions of yuan in new orders, and related products have been implemented in multiple fields.
For example, in the energy field, Yuequan Bionic has established a strategic cooperation with SPIC, and is committed to integrating robot technology, bionic technology with the application of unmanned aircraft and offshore wind power operations. In the process of installing and constructing new energy industry, SPIC has a huge demand for industrial resources and scene applications. The two sides will carry out cooperation in the fields of lightweight robotic arms and bionic dexterous hands on unmanned aircraft, as well as unmanned aircraft high-altitude operations and other related technical fields, to develop robotic arm and dexterous hand products with the characteristics of lightweight, high precision, multiple degrees of freedom, and easy operation.
On the other hand, the special operation robot track is also one of the fields that has maintained a relatively fast development in recent years. Especially in responding to earthquakes, floods, and public safety events such as mine disasters, fires, and security, the demand for special robots is gradually increasing.
At present, Yuequan Bionic's partner in this regard is Yan'ge Defense Technology Group, and it has provided the latter with robotic dexterous hand products, committed to achieving the upgrade of the intelligent and generalized operation ability of unmanned defense/special robots. In the future, the company will continue to cooperate with Yan'ge Defense to promote the upgrade of the fine operation ability that integrates bionic robot technology in scenarios such as special operations, high-risk environments, and fine operations in narrow spaces such as oil and gas field chemical engineering for physical grasping, tool/item disassembly and processing.
In addition, enterprises that have established cooperative relations with Yuequan Bionic also include some other leading humanoid robot companies. In the future, the company will also promote the technical implementation and application of bionic robot products in the automotive industry, aviation industry, scientific research and education, and other fields.
It is also reported that in addition to bionic robots, bionic intelligent equipment and other products derived from the bionic tension-compression technology will become the second growth point to promote the business development of Yuequan Bionic. For example, most of the technical solutions of modern bionic prosthetics communicate with muscles. When nerves are activated, muscles will send out stronger electrical signals, which can be captured by electrodes on the skin and then control the prosthetic. In the future, the company will layout technologies such as muscle reconstruction and nerve redirection to enable recipients to perceive the position and movement of the bionic limb. At present, the company's bionic ankle product has been delivered, and it is expected that subsequent orders of tens of millions of yuan will continue to be implemented.
