Apple Intelligence has finally arrived.
On October 28, Apple released the iOS 18.1 system. The new system includes the Apple Intelligence for the artificial intelligence platform, which has functions such as text proofreading, photo optimization, notification summary, and an enhanced Siri.
It is reported that Apple Intelligence will support iPhones, iPads, and Macs that meet the hardware device configuration requirements. It is initially available for the iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.
However, Apple Intelligence is not yet available for use in mainland China. The Apple official website shows that for iPhone models purchased in mainland China and with an Apple account region set to mainland China, Apple Intelligence is currently not available.
The newly released writing tool suite can adjust the wording for users, generate meeting recordings or text minutes, and summarize abstracts. This function is applicable to the Apple built-in application Note and third-party applications.
The notification summary function can streamline the content of new messages in the notification bar for an intuitive understanding.

If users try to make a video from multiple pictures, they only need to enter keywords in the gallery. Apple Intelligence will find the most matching photos and videos. After identifying the theme, it can arrange the photos into a narrative film.
Apple introduced that the enhanced Siri will be more natural when communicating with people. It can automatically provide services by sensing the user's surrounding environment, the applications being used, and the device functions. For example, when a user asks a question, Siri can give solutions step by step; when asking about the weather at the location of a newly created calendar, Apple Intelligence will understand and reply with the weather conditions at that location.
In addition, the enhanced Siri also has screen recognition ability, which can understand the content on the screen and perform the user's tasks. For example, if a new address is received, you can say "Add this address to their contact card", and Siri will handle it.
In terms of cross-application functions, Siri has also been upgraded. One example listed by Apple is that users can ask Siri to send the drafted email to the specified contact, and Siri will know the referenced email and the application it is in.
Calling Siri is also more convenient. Users can double-click the bottom of the iPhone or iPad screen without speaking to activate Siri.
