On October 18, Cathay Pacific's CX332 took off from Hong Kong International Airport. This flight is operated by the upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, carrying Cathay's new Studio Business Class, new Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. The aircraft has a total of 361 seats in three cabins, including 45 fully flat-bed business class seats, 48 premium economy class seats, and 268 economy class seats.
Based on the original business class, the Studio Business Class retains the reverse herringbone seat arrangement and improves the privacy of the space by adding partitioned compartments and retractable partitions. At the same time, to meet the individualized needs of different passengers, the Studio Business Class also incorporates features such as compartment lighting atmosphere adjustment and one-click seat mode switching; for example, in the lighting control function, passengers can make preset settings for different flight phases.

Cathay Pacific introduced that this maiden flight is from Hong Kong to Beijing, and it will subsequently be put into service on other regional and long-haul routes; including the expected operation of the Hong Kong - Shanghai route in November, as well as the use on routes in Japan, Singapore, and other places. By 2027, Cathay Pacific will complete the renewal of 30 aircraft.
Previously at Cathay Pacific's interim results presentation, Cathay Pacific announced that it will invest more than HK$100 billion in the next seven years for significant investments in the fleet, cabin products, lounges, digital technology, and sustainable development. The gradual replacement of various aspects such as the fleet is a key part of the investment.
In addition to the upgrade of the Boeing B777-300ER, Cathay Pacific will introduce the Boeing B777-9 aircraft next year, and at the same time launch a new First Class and a new fully flat-bed business class product in the Airbus A330 aircraft.
