Recently, the "2024 SenseTime 10th Anniversary International Forum" was held at Hong Kong Science Park. Xu Li, the Chairman and CEO of SenseTime, announced a new core strategy at the conference, which will seamlessly integrate digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence models, and applications to drive a new round of innovation.

Xu Li stated that the rapid development of large models is largely due to the significant improvement of the overall infrastructure level, making general AI models possible.

In 2020, before the large models had not yet set off the AI 2.0 wave, SenseTime officially started the construction of the computing power infrastructure AI large device SenseCore, transforming computer vision technology into practical applications and landing in multiple fields such as smart cities, smart healthcare, and intelligent driving. With the development and application of AI technology increasingly relying on large models and computing power support, SenseTime will focus on the seamless integration of digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence models, and applications to provide enterprise customers with high-quality, low-cost, and easily accessible products and services.

In the market, AI has become a hot area of global innovation. In the past few years, more and more Chinese technology companies represented by SenseTime have begun to explore the possibility of AI going global.

Take the Asia-Pacific region as an example. The Asia-Pacific is a region composed of diverse cultures, and there are differences in languages, cultures, and user habits in different countries and regions. SenseTime has launched differentiated large models that fit local needs. Through in-depth understanding of the local society, culture, and language usage, the regional large models can better meet the diverse needs of local users and enterprises and serve local users; for example, providing services in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other minority languages to help residents accurately understand the document processing procedures, policy updates, and life information. Currently, SenseTime has launched Cantonese large models, Thai large models, etc., which have received a warm response in the local market.

In addition to model applications, Zou Chunhui, Vice President of SenseTime Asia-Pacific, also revealed in an interview that in the Asia-Pacific region, SenseTime is cooperating closely with artificial intelligence infrastructure, technology research, data management, talent training, and business operations to promote the ecological construction and industrial development of the local artificial intelligence technology field.

The Middle East, which has sufficient financial, resource, and computing power, is also one of the key areas where SenseTime is focused. Since 2018, SenseTime has officially entered the Middle East market. After the AI 1.0 era dominated by computer vision, its large models have gradually come into the sight of customers.

Huang Jigong, President of SenseTime's International Business, said that currently, both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have a positive demand for AI, providing opportunities for SenseTime to apply its technology locally, such as in the cultural and tourism industry and other scenarios, where AIGC technology can be applied to enhance the experience for end users. "We believe that in the next five years, the Middle East market will continue to expand. On the one hand, it is because the Middle East market itself has a strong consumption capacity, and on the other hand, it is also related to the consumption habits of local residents."

According to official data, SenseTime Group has now set up offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanping, Qingdao, Sanya, Xi'an, Macau, Kyoto, Tokyo, Singapore, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and other places. In addition, SenseTime has business in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other countries.
