Australian AI startup Firmus secures $10 billion in financing led by Blackstone
On February 9, Australian artificial intelligence infrastructure company Firmus Technologies announced that it has secured a $10 billion debt financing led by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities, Blackstone Credit & Insurance Funds, and affiliated funds under The Blackstone Group, with financial investment firm Coatue participating jointly. Firmus said that the financing will be used for the next phase of the company's data center expansion, and it plans to build data centers with a total capacity of up to 1.6 gigawatts in Australia by 2028.
