The financing for Infineon's Dresden plant has been approved by the German government, and it is expected to start production in 2026.

Infineon announced on May 8 that the German government has given final financing approval for the company's new chip factory in Dresden. Infineon will invest 5 billion euros on its own and create up to 1,000 new jobs. In addition, Infineon is also investing in Dresden by participating in the joint - venture "European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company" (ESMC). Previously, in February this year, the European Commission approved the German government to provide 920 million euros in financial support to Infineon for the construction of the Dresden factory.
