Infineon announced on May 8 that the German government has given final financing approval for the company's new chip factory in Dresden. Infineon will invest 5 billion euros on its own and create up to 1,000 new jobs. In addition, Infineon is also investing in Dresden by participating in the joint - venture "European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company" (ESMC). Previously, in February this year, the European Commission approved the German government to provide 920 million euros in financial support to Infineon for the construction of the Dresden factory. Construction of the factory began in May 2023 and is proceeding as planned. The main building has been basically completed, and it is expected to start production in 2026. (Cailian Press)
