Hard Kr has learned that the pool robot manufacturer "Surge Future" recently completed a Pre-A round of financing in the hundreds of millions of yuan.

"Surge Future" was founded in 2024. As a provider of intelligent solutions for all water areas, the company focuses on the courtyard cleaning scenario, researches and produces pool robots, and gradually extends its business to multiple scenarios such as household water area maintenance and public water area governance. More than 80% of its core components are independently designed and developed.

According to official sources, since the release of "Surge Future" in the first half of 2025, the product shipment volume has exceeded 20,000 units, and the revenue from the overseas market accounts for more than 90%. The company has established stable cooperation with mainstream European and American channels such as Lowe's, Bauhaus, Best Buy, and Home Depot.

According to a report by CIC, in 2024, the total number of swimming pools in the world was approximately 32.9 million, and private swimming pools accounted for more than 90%. The large user base has promoted the continuous growth of the pool cleaning robot market. Its penetration rate has steadily increased from 17.8% in 2019 to 26.2% in 2024, and is expected to reach 34.2% in 2029, indicating huge market potential.

Predominantly in European and American countries, private swimming pools generally exhibit heterogeneous characteristics. Since residential courtyards are built according to the terrain, the shapes of swimming pools often conform to the natural topography. Steps, shallow water areas, circular boundaries, and irregular shapes are common designs. Moreover, many users pursue personalized expressions and deeply integrate swimming pools with home landscape design.

In response to this diversity, "Surge Future" has launched the industry's first pool robot equipped with an underwater LDS laser radar, self-developed structured light sensors, a 360° AquaScan™ panoramic navigation system, etc., to achieve a 7-in-1 solution integrating multiple functions.

In terms of perception, this system can penetrate turbid water, accurately obtain three-dimensional environmental information in front of the machine, achieve millimeter-level recognition of irregular pool walls, inclined bottoms, and various low obstacles, and construct a three-dimensional underwater map.

Whether it is an irregular pool body or a complex structure, based on the intelligent algorithm of structured light technology, the "Surge Future" pool robot can perceive complex structures in advance, plan the optimal path in real time, increase the obstacle avoidance success rate to 99.8%, solve the problem of traditional products getting stuck due to "the belly of the machine being suspended and the tracks hanging in the air", and effectively increase the cleaning coverage rate to 99.2%.

In response to the difficult problem of terrain adaptation in complex swimming pools, "Surge Future" has developed the FloatDrive™ four-rotor suspension power system. Through the intelligent differential control of four water pumps, the robot can achieve precise hovering and vertical lifting. Coupled with a large-flow brushless motor with a flow rate of 10,000 GPH per hour, it can help the machine cross steps up to 15 centimeters high and remove various impurities with strong suction.

To solve the common pain point of corner cleaning, the R & D team has also launched the EdgeDrive™ zero-edge roller brush system, which uses an independently driven front roller brush and a non-return flow channel design to achieve 2-millimeter-level close cleaning with the pool wall.

Currently, "Surge Future" has launched two pool robot products. Among them, the flagship model Rover X10 targets the high-end villa and commercial pool markets, with a unit price of over 10,000 yuan. This product was launched in September this year and has already received orders from more than 30 agents in Europe and Southeast Asia. The entry-level model Diver A10 is priced in the range of $1,000 or €1,000. Test prototypes have been sent to European channels, and mass sales are expected next year.

At the same time, "Surge Future" is actively expanding its product line across all price ranges. According to Hard Kr, the company plans to launch an entry-level pool robot priced below $500 in 2026, and simultaneously release handheld underwater vacuum cleaners and pool bottom cleaning products. A dedicated product line for niche scenarios such as small swimming pools and children's swimming pools is also in the planning stage.
