AI deconstructs skill profiles, Mizhiyun transforms blue-collar skills into auditable data assets

In China's smart factories, equipment, work orders and materials are all recorded in real time, while employee skills are still only stored in team leaders' minds and Excel spreadsheets. Mizhiyun digitizes this previously untapped production factor into measurable, auditable and schedulable data assets: it creates a real-time updated "skill passport" for each production line employee, and manages post qualification, skill level and certificate validity as transparent records that can be checked at any time, used for production scheduling and work reporting, and directly submitted for factory audits.

Why the market pain points must be addressed right now

The "Guidelines for the Development of Manufacturing Talents" jointly issued by three Chinese ministries predicts that by 2025, the talent gap in ten key sectors of the manufacturing industry will reach nearly 30 million, with the proportion of highly skilled employees standing at only about 30%; 60% of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises are facing gaps in core skills, and 70% of safety accidents and batch rework are caused by substandard skills. Meanwhile, Clause 7.2 of ISO 9001 and Clause 7.2.1 of IATF 16949 both require enterprises to retain data proving personnel competence; Article 97 of the Work Safety Law and Decree No.10 of the Ministry of Emergency Management list uncertified work as a major hidden danger of accidents, for which enterprises can be ordered to suspend production for rectification. An expired certificate will directly lead to failed factory audits, production line shutdowns and lost orders. "Whether personnel are qualified for their posts" has become a universal hard constraint.

Solutions and Competitive Barriers

Founder Zhang Jie holds a Master's degree in Management from Tongji University, and previously served as the Director of the Cloud Computing Business Unit of SAP China. He has witnessed many quality and compliance losses caused by inadequate personnel qualification management in factories. Especially during the survey with CRRC Tangshan Locomotive Co., Ltd., he found that the skill matrix, qualification expiration tracking and recertification of thousands of front-line technical employees were all completed manually, which brought huge troubles and hidden dangers to shift scheduling, auditing and training. Therefore, since 2019, together with co-founder Yao Jiayi, who has a background in big data, he designed and developed the first generation of Mizhiyun Skill Cloud product, which has been successfully applied to CRRC Tangshan Locomotive Co., Ltd.

After 8 versions of iterations, the product has formed a compliant data layer system covering the full life cycle of skill qualifications for manufacturing enterprises: it forms a closed loop from skill deconstruction, new qualification acquisition, recertification tracking to revocation warning, and has accumulated more than 30,000 industry-specific skills. After uploading SOPs, process documents or equipment manuals, AI can generate a skill matrix covering four levels: factory, workshop, workstation and process in one click; the system will give early warnings and automatically keep records for matters including when certificates expire, who needs to recertify, and which workstation lacks what qualifications, so that the evidence chain can be retrieved with one click during factory audits.

Target Customers and Development Progress

Mizhiyun's main customers are manufacturing enterprises with multiple bases, production lines and workstations, mainly concentrated in the sectors of equipment manufacturing, aerospace, auto parts, fine chemicals, etc. The payment comes from the production and quality compliance budget rather than the HR training budget, so the unit customer price is higher than that of general training tools. The product has completed the verification of the industry skill library, AI capabilities and leading customers, and has entered the promotion stage. Leading enterprises including CRRC Tangshan, ZF China, KONE Elevator, Safran China, SGS China, AU Optronics have adopted the product. Following the overseas expansion pace of Chinese manufacturing enterprises, Mizhiyun is bringing its skill standards to overseas bases in Southeast Asia, Mexico and other regions. At present, the Indonesian manufacturing base of China Baowu Group has also successfully implemented Mizhiyun.

Future Development Plans

In the future, Mizhiyun aims to become the infrastructure for manufacturing skill data. The skill standards will be maintained by Mizhiyun. With the deepening of industry coverage, the skill library will become the default reference system for the whole industry. It will form a full-process compliance evidence chain covering skill application, training and recertification, and will be deeply integrated with production scheduling systems, ERP and other systems.

Customer growth is mainly realized through the following channels: replication along the supply chain of leading enterprises, integration into the audit data layer of certification and consulting institutions such as SGS, expansion of enterprises' application scope from a single base to multiple bases, and unification of skill standards for Chinese manufacturing enterprises' overseas operations.
