People always lose their pet vaccination record books, and group-buying reviews are often artificially inflated? This Wuhan-based platform plans to reconstruct local same-city pet services with "lifetime electronic archives".
I. Industry Pain Points: Fragmented Information and Lack of Trust in Local Pet Services
China's pet consumption market continues to expand, and pet owners regard their pets as family members, leading to steady growth in demand for local pet services such as grooming, physical examination, medical treatment, and pet boarding. However, in the local Wuhan market, the pet service industry is highly fragmented: a large number of offline grooming stores and pet hospitals operate independently, data is not shared among different institutions, and there is a lack of unified service standards across the industry.
Pet owners are faced with multiple practical problems. Most of the records of pet vaccination, deworming, physical examination and medical consultation are kept in paper manuals, which are extremely easy to lose. When users receive services at different stores and hospitals, the complete pet health and medical history cannot be retrieved synchronously, which will bring diagnosis and treatment risks when the pet is ill. At the same time, users rely heavily on public reviews on group-buying platforms to select service providers, and some of these reviews are artificially inflated. Ordinary pet owners can hardly identify the actual service level of the stores, and are prone to problems such as non-standard services and substandard hygiene conditions.
Most traditional Internet platforms only play the role of traffic matchmakers. Comprehensive life service platforms focus on single transactions and do not deposit long-term pet health data; vertical pet e-commerce platforms focus on online product sales, with weak offline local fulfillment capabilities. None of the existing products integrate whole-life-cycle pet care, local service connection and user review community, and there is an obvious gap in digital services in the industry.
II. Solutions: Build a Local Pet Ecosystem Platform, and Form a Service Closed Loop Through Pet Profiles and Community
This pet ecosystem platform is positioned as an asset-light local service platform in Wuhan, with no self-operated offline stores. It takes WeChat Mini Program as the core carrier, and builds a complete product system around the lifelong electronic health profile of pets. The platform integrates high-quality local pet grooming stores and regular pet hospital resources, selects service providers through a strict admission mechanism, establishes unified service fulfillment specifications, after-sales rules and merchant elimination mechanism, to avoid experience risks brought by unregulated admission of low-quality merchants.
The core capabilities of the platform are reflected in three major modules. The first one is the lifelong electronic health profile database for pets, which can record all-dimensional information of pets including vaccination, deworming, physical examination, grooming, and medical consultation, and supports timeline archiving and intelligent reminders for care nodes. At the MVP stage, it is not mandatory to connect to the internal systems of medical institutions, and the maintenance of profile information is completed through semi-manual entry. After the business scale grows, interface connection will be gradually promoted to realize automatic data synchronization.
The second part is the local service appointment scheduling system, which realizes full-process management of geographic location matching, order distribution, merchant order receiving, settlement and commission sharing, and provides digital operation tools for cooperative service providers. The third part is to build a UGC content community, including a recommendation and review section and a local lost pet mutual aid forum. The recommendation section allows users to publish pet raising experiences, product reviews and real feedback on stores, forming local word-of-mouth reference; the lost pet mutual aid section provides a channel for releasing lost pet information for local pet owners, and realizes natural traffic fission by virtue of social attributes.
Through the path of "public domain content drainage - Mini Program conversion - private domain retention", the platform is different from the traditional group-buying platform that only facilitates one-time transaction matching. It connects pet health data, real user word-of-mouth and local service supply, and builds a service closed loop covering the whole life cycle of pets.
III. Business Model and Market Progress: Focus on Wuhan to Complete MVP Verification
The target users of the project are urban pet-raising families aged 25-40 in Wuhan, mainly including white-collar pet owners, novice pet owners, and high-value pet groups that raise elderly pets. Such users are active online, attach great importance to pet health and safety, and are willing to pay for standardized and traceable pet services.
Commercial revenue comes from multiple sectors, including commissions on service orders from service providers, revenue sharing from medical referral diversion, and value-added service revenue related to pet supplies. The project adopts an asset-light operation model, does not own offline physical stores, and relies on cooperative service providers to complete offline fulfillment, so as to reduce the risk of heavy asset investment in the early stage.
At the present stage, the project is in the seed round preparation stage, and the preliminary investigation, competitor analysis, product requirement scheme and business docking work are all supported by the founding team's own funds. The team has completed the local market research in Wuhan, reached cooperation intentions with many local pet grooming stores and pet hospitals, finished the design of the Mini Program product scheme, and contacted a number of technical outsourcing teams to obtain development quotations. The team has the capabilities of local short video content operation and private domain community operation, which can support the customer acquisition for the project's early cold start.
The project plans to launch a seed round financing, with a planned financing of 1 million RMB and 10% equity transfer. After the funds are in place, the development and launch of the Mini Program will be promoted, the first batch of service providers will be officially signed, and the local cold start will be launched to verify the complete model of user growth, merchant retention and commercialization. The short-term goal is to run through the MVP closed loop in Wuhan; the medium and long-term plan is to standardize the mature operation model and gradually replicate and expand to other cities in the province.
After the project is launched, it will bring multiple values to the local pet industry in Wuhan. For pet owners, it realizes the unified management of pet health records, and reduces the probability of encountering bad stores with the help of UGC word-of-mouth; for local service providers, it delivers high-value and accurate users to high-quality merchants, helping them get rid of the low-price involution on group-buying platforms; for the regional industry, it promotes the establishment of unified access, fulfillment and evaluation standards for local pet services, and makes up for the digitalization shortcomings of the industry.
