L&T Secures Over $1 Billion NVIDIA B300 AI Factory Order
On August 13, Indian engineering and construction enterprise Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced that its subsidiary Vyoma.AI, through its AI infrastructure arm LTN Compute, has won an order to build India's largest single-cluster AI infrastructure for US AI cloud service provider Together AI. The project will deploy 10000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs in the Chennai data center park, for large-scale inference, fine-tuning and training. L&T stated that this marks the company's first entry into the AI factory business. According to reports, SK Hynix has begun phased deployment of AI systems at its semiconductor back-end production lines in Cheongju. The specific equipment involved has not been disclosed. The company is currently evaluating the production performance of the equipment, as well as the effectiveness and reliability of the AI systems in the production environment. The evaluation is expected to be completed by the end of the year. An industry insider stated that the key performance indicators (KPIs) of SK Hynix's personnel responsible for equipment verification have been directly linked to the successful verification and deployment of AI software. SK Shipping and H-Line Swap Assets to Build Asia's Largest LNG Fleet
On August 13, South Korean private equity giant Hahn&Co. announced that two of its controlled South Korean shipping companies, SK Shipping and H-Line Shipping, have reached an agreement to swap assets and long-term contracts. Under the agreement, SK Shipping will receive 16 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and related long-term contracts from H-Line; in return, SK Shipping will transfer 12 oil tankers, related long-term contracts and approximately $300 million in cash to H-Line.
