Build a new paradigm for the development of healthy display with the scale of human factor science
In the AI era, the duration of users looking at screens continues to rise. Protecting visual health is not only a technical issue for enterprises, but also requires the joint efforts of all sectors of industry, university and research. TianGong Display 2.0 is an important achievement of healthy display moving towards scientific and systematic development.
At the launch event, Zhang Yunhong, Director of the Human Factors and Intelligent Interaction Laboratory of China National Institute of Standardization, shared the research progress of display visual health from the perspective of human factors engineering. Starting from the evolution of display technology and visual health problems, she proposed that displays have evolved from a simple information window to a core variable affecting national visual health. Guided by human factors ergonomics, the current evaluation method of visual health has developed from single index measurement to multi-disciplinary integration, and a multi-disciplinary quantitative evaluation system integrating optometry, psychophysiology and visual science has been constructed, which provides a scientific path for improving the matching degree between display products, people and the environment, as well as safety, health, efficiency and comfort in human-computer interaction. For the future, visual health will pay more attention to pragmatism and efficiency, scenario adaptation, personalized design and collaborative innovation — and the highest state is: when technology is hidden in the invisible, people return to nature, the best display is to make you forget the existence of the display.
This time, Tianma is at the forefront of human factors research in the display industry, and jointly launched a healthy display human factors research program with China National Institute of Standardization. Tianma completed the tracking of more than 500 subjects, collected more than 10,000 hours of real eye use data in total, cross-verified psychological and behavioral indicators such as blink frequency and pupil diameter with screen parameters, and built a softness evaluation system around the three directions of human factors engineering, visual comfort and scientific quantification, covering seven evaluation dimensions of color, spectrum, viewing angle, brightness, stroboscopic, uniformity and hierarchy, transforming subjective visual perception into quantifiable and reproducible engineering indicators, so that every screen optimization is based on experimental data. In the process, the deep correlation between screen parameters and visual experience is systematically studied — so that eye protection no longer stays in empirical judgment, but is truly based on scientific verification; the luminescence logic of each screen can match the psychological and physiological laws of human vision. This set of achievements is not only used to guide the development of TianGong Display 2.0, but also will promote the standardization of the achievements in the future, effectively enhancing the industry awareness of using visual ergonomics to promote display visual health.
Jia Yuhu, General Manager of OPPO Multimedia Center, shared the joint R&D achievements with Tianma from the terminal perspective. Adhering to the concept of "Primary Color, Gentle Light, Source Eye Protection", the two sides cooperate in depth at the source of luminescent materials around the demands of transparency and eye protection, and jointly develop primary color spectrum luminescent materials. Relying on the R&D and manufacturing capabilities of both parties, the spectrum optimization and ultra-wide color gamut are implemented in mass-produced terminals. Zhou Huifang, chief physician of the Department of Ophthalmology, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, brought important references for healthy display from the perspective of clinical medicine. She proposed that visual health is affected by multiple factors such as spectrum, stroboscopic, brightness, ambient light, and use duration. It cannot be judged by a single parameter, but the relationship between the display, light environment and human eyes should be systematically studied. She affirmed TianGong Display 2.0's exploration in spectrum optimization, low-light and multi-scenario visual experience, and believed that this represents that display technology breaks away from the involution of parameters and begins to pay attention to the real feelings of people, and called for cross-border collaboration between medicine, human factors research and the display industry, so that technological innovation can serve a more natural and comfortable visual experience.
