Take hardware as the entry point, build an ecosystem via the platform, and solve the problem of scaling development from 1 to 100.

36Kr has learned that Beijing Tianxing Exploration Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tianxing Exploration"), a provider of satellite internet connectivity and data services, has completed tens of millions of yuan in an Angel+ round of financing, co-invested by Lushi Investment and Plum Ventures. This marks Lushi Investment's continuous additional investment following its exclusive investment in the Angel round.

The raised funds from this round will be mainly used for product R&D and production, as well as the construction of a multi-system integrated pilot platform and software platform, with a focus on strengthening the team's capabilities in design, development and testing.

Tianxing Exploration was founded in April 2025 and is an enterprise that 36Kr has long paid attention to. The founder told 36Kr that the company's high-orbit high-throughput and low-orbit IoT terminals have both entered the mass production and sales stages, and the current main revenue comes from terminal hardware sales, of which the transportation (vehicle-mounted, off-road, outdoor) scenarios contribute more than 90% of the total revenue.

Overseas business has also begun to generate actual revenue: the company sells an average of 1,000 sets of equipment per month, forming a relatively stable customer group. The team is also conducting customized satellite communication product tests for unmanned ships and unmanned boats, and plans to gradually expand the marine business market before the end of the year.

In addition, Tianxing Exploration is currently advancing cooperation with a number of automakers with off-road attributes and overseas business layouts such as Chery, BYD and Changan. In the short term, it will first penetrate the market with the model of pre-installed software and high-quality post-installed hardware, and the pre-installed hardware cooperation will also be gradually promoted along with the verification and testing of vehicle model adaptation.

Three Steps in One Year: New Product Launch, Mass Production, Expansion

In the past year, Tianxing Exploration has made certain progress in many aspects such as product production and R&D, organizational scale, and resource integration.

In terms of organizational layout, it has successively set up new branches in Qingdao, Kazakhstan and Shenzhen: together with the existing Chengdu team, it has formed a structure of "Beijing Operation Center + Chengdu R&D Center + Multiple Scenario/Regional Business Entities".

At the resource level, it has successively carried out strategic cooperation with satellite resource providers such as China Satcom, Iridium China, Geespace, and Chang Guang Satellite.

The progress on the product side is the most remarkable.

Last October, Tianxing Exploration released the prototype of its satellite terminal product; this April, the high-orbit high-throughput and low-orbit IoT hardware terminals entered the mass production and sales stages respectively. On the software side, the Xingzhe Adventure APP officially launched public beta in May this year, with thousands of registered users so far, and the daily new registration volume has continued to rise recently. The car machine version of the software has also been released at the same time. This June, the operation service platform was officially launched.

In the view of the founder, behind the product progress is the embodiment of the team's delivery speed and implementation capability. Completing two rounds of product iteration and promoting mass production in less than a year, this full-process capability from definition to implementation, superimposed on the gradually clear opportunities in the application track, is exactly the reason why institutions are willing to continue to increase their investment in Tianxing Exploration at this stage.

Hardware as Entry, Platform as Ecology

After a year of development and iteration, Tianxing Exploration has gradually formed a complete architecture of "hardware terminal + software application + data platform".

The hardware end is divided into three levels — the portable terminal "Xingzhe mini" for the post-installation market, the high-performance terminal "Xingzhe Pro" supporting high-orbit high-throughput satellite communication, and the "Xingzhe S-BOX" control box for automotive-grade pre-installation.

The software end includes mobile APP and car machine APP, which can interconnect with hardware to realize real-time return of positioning, trajectory and alarm data; it can also run independently without hardware, providing functions such as route planning, team communication, and high-quality travel guides to reach users at a lower threshold. At present, the APP side still acquires customers with a free strategy, and will realize paid conversion through value-added data services in the future.

The data layer is supported by the "Xingzhe Horizon Platform", which integrates multi-constellation resources to provide value-added services such as road condition prediction, warning prompt and decision support for vehicle scenarios.

In Tianxing Exploration's vision, the positioning of the Horizon Platform is not limited to serving its own products, but a more open entry for application sharing ecological ecosystem.

The platform has reserved standardized API interfaces from the very beginning of its design, which is convenient for third-party terminal products to quickly access in accordance with unified specifications. This means that users do not need to worry about which constellation to choose and which type of network to adapt to in the future. As long as they access the Horizon Platform, they can obtain connection capabilities in the same service system.

However, the realization of this goal still takes time. At present, the underlying interfaces between different constellations have not been connected. Tianxing Exploration's strategy is to advance step by step from top to bottom — first connect the upper-layer protocols of some constellations to allow users to use them on the application side; with the formation of customer scale and business closed loop, it will gradually go deep into the physical layer, and finally realize true cross-constellation communication and services.

More Than Solving the Problem From 0 to 1

The threshold in the field of satellite communication lies not only in achieving a certain underlying protocol, but the greater challenge is how to make the existing technology work reliably in real scenarios.

This is also reflected in Tianxing Exploration's own practice path.

Since October 2025, Tianxing Exploration has successively participated in the communication support work of many events such as the Alxa Heroes Rally, N35 Traversal, Taklimakan Rally, and Qinghai Gansu Ultra-Marathon. At present, the team has completed about 200,000 kilometers of real-road tests following the event organizers and major racing teams, repeatedly tested the satellite pointing algorithm and transmission stability in the environment of continuous bumping and extreme temperature difference, and remotely optimized the algorithm immediately after finding problems, and then put it back into verification and use.

Hardware terminals are tested in desert environments

"Only by continuously going deep into scenarios and polishing products can we solve more problems from 1 to 10 and from 10 to 100 in the satellite internet application field." The founder believes that such scenario-based fine polishing is a relatively weak link for traditional satellite terminal manufacturers, and it is also the differentiation of Tianxing Exploration.

However, product reliability is only the first step. If we only solve the problem of "connecting to the sky", satellite communication will still be a niche and low-frequency track.

Tianxing Exploration's judgment on the satellite internet application industry is that it will enter the network operation period around 2027 and the information value-added period in 2030. At that time, the core of competition will no longer be which manufacturer's terminal to use, but what data can be transmitted on the network and what value can be provided to users after the connection is established.

Based on this, Tianxing Exploration breaks down its business model into four layers: hardware terminals, traffic operation, scenario value-added and data services.

In the view of the founder, Tianxing Exploration's future positioning is a product definer and provider, the core of which is the integrated awareness of "connection - data - scenario" — while producing hardware terminals adapted to typical scenarios, it plans data services, and converts connection capabilities into scalable deliverable service capabilities by integrating communication, navigation and remote sensing data and building an ecological platform.

At present, Tianxing Exploration is applying for relevant qualifications for value-added telecommunications services, and plans to launch a new round of financing in the second half of the year.
